191  Re: Decorated cross swap in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: April 05, 2006 05:25:50 PM
I received from amaryllisroze today and I am putting it mildly when I say I was completely blown away!!!

Here is the first thing that I saw upon opening the package-- a beautiful handmade card!

(I'm afraid my picture doesn't do it justice-- it's so pretty!)

And here... (cue the fanfare music)... is my cross!

Isn't it amazing?!?!?  In my info, I had mentioned that if my partner were looking for any inspiration, I would love to have yellow roses incorporated somehow in memory of my grandmother.  When I saw this, I teared up-- really.  It is so beautiful and means so much!  It is already hanging in a place of honor in my craft room-- right on the door!

Thank you so much Amy-- I will treasure this cross forever!

I received yesterday from knottydottie-- a fabulous panta and a cat toy suprise!!

I don't know if you can see the detail in this picture, but the cat toy is actually cabled!

Sonja said she has never had a cabeled toy in her life and feels like a real craftster now!  She also likes my panta very much as they were in the same package together and evidently it smells a little bit like catnip.  (Hopefully she won't be jumping onto my head-- I haven't taken the panta off since I got it!!)  Anyway, she is so happy to have this new toy, she wanted to post her thank you right away:

And here is a funny shot, she is sleepy and has had a bit too much of the "sauce"  Tongue

Thank you so much knottydottie!  Sonja and I love our treats!!!  Grin

And I'm back-- with photos!

Here is the pony I made for ciracira-- I went with a few themes that she mentioned that she liked, the main one being an angel.  I tried to incorporate some stars in there as well, colors that she likes (blue and white), and a little anime.  (I attempted to paint anime-ish eyes and create a sort of anime-ish head piece for her.)  These pics aren't the greatest, but you get the idea!

(pardon the looming bottle of modge podge and craft stuff in the background)

A front view:

And pony bum!

I was so nervous about her arriving to ciracira safely, but evidently she made the trip with no problemo!  I'm so glad you like her ciracira!  She was super fun to make!!! Grin

I received a beautiful package from simply today!!!  First off, I have to say that she is a crocheting queen!  She made me a beautiful hat and scarf set, potholders, and towels to hang in my kitchen!  She also decorated some beautiful plant pots and sent along some of my favorite plant seeds!  Here are the pics:

All the loot!

Closeup of the hat/scarf/potholders:

Aren't they gorgeous?  So bright and springy!!!  Thank you so much simply-- this swap has been so fun!!

I received this absolutely gorgeous pony from ciracira today!!  Everyone, meet Flora!

She likes to pose, so here's another shot:

(Notice the bling -- she loves accessories!)

She even came in her own special Flora box.  ciracira dyed her, re-rooted her hair, painted detail-- she's amazing!  I can't believe Flora is mine!  Thank you so much ciracira!!!

This is Sonja (often called Sonjaboo) after we received our first swap package in the mail-- an altered altoid tin!

She thought it was beautiful and made quite a good pillow!

I am going to post a few pics of what I sent to sissychrissy1, as she is under the weather right now!  *hopes the tea is soothing*  Smiley

Here is a pic of the whole package-- the popcorn bag has a bag of coffee inside from a local coffee shop.  Also included is my favorite tea in the world (jasmine-- so fragrant!), some chocolate covered expresso beans, an embroidered tea towel, a paper bag book, and some teacup stationary.  (Please disregard all the bordering junk on my crafting table)

A closeup of the tea towel:

A few shots of the paper bag book (made from Dunkin Donuts bagel bags- tastiest book I ever made! Smiley )
The front cover:

One of the inside pages:

One of the secret pages on the inside:

Hope you are feeling better soon sissychrissy1!  Enjoy your coffee and tea!  Cheesy

Speaking of donuts, I received a mighty fine package from ax174!!!  Check out the knitted treats that arrived in my mailbox!
There is a delicious donut with sprinkles, a tart, and a cupcake!!

But wait-- there's more!  An amazing pillowcase, complete with knit cupcake and embroidered heart.  (ax174 claims in her note that this was her first attempt at embroidering, but I don't buy it!  It looks amazing!!)

And last, but certainly not least... a magnet and some chocolate Easter candy!  The chocolate is long gone, (I have no idea how that could have happened... Roll Eyes) but inside the chocolate eggs were little toys!  I have never seen these before (we don't have them in Massachusetts anyway) so my husband and I got a huge kick opening them up!

Thank you soooo much Eva!  I love everything to bits!!!  This was such a fun swap!!

I have been playing around with my camera tonight and realized it is time to post some photos!  Smiley

The wonderful noodle princess sent me shrinky dink paper which I am planning to dive into this weekend!

Thank you so much!!  I will be shrinking things left and right!  he he

The incredible bloocanoe sent me address labels, felted soap, and a surprise kit for felting my own soap!  You can only imagine my delight when I realized that the mail had arrived, and then I receive this awesome package!  The soap smells amazing

The soaps and felting kit:

I wanted to post a picture of the address labels, but then realized I am a big dummy and don't know how to block out my address in the picture! (at least on my home computer)  But trust me-- they are awesome!  She chose celestial images, elephants, vegetables, and my favorite-- my avatar!  Smiley  I can't wait to use everything!  Thank you so much bloo-- you seriously made my day!
