11  Re: IYP 26: So you think you can craft! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: September 20, 2014 02:49:06 PM
Oh my goodness, so many incredible things here! I am in awe of the mini tree-trimming kit -- it's so beautiful!

Speaking of being in awe, I received from silentblair -- I have spent much of this afternoon laughing and near tears at how awesome this box of goodies really is. Like, she nailed it.

Here's the entire haul, and then I'll do individual pics:

As you can see, amazingness, right? The first thing that I opened was the birdhouse, which has the adddress of 221 Baker Street. How freaking awesome is that? I can't decide if the birds will ever see this or if it's just going to stay in my living room forever. Grin

Next, hilarious dishtowels that I can't wait to use. I needed some snark in my kitchen.

Then, an awesome mug to declare my love for delicious flavor -- and Psych.

Then, moving on to my all-time favorite show in the world, The Golden Girls. Words cannot express how much I love this hoopla and these magnets! The magnets crack me up!

Then, and this is the part that got me teary, the fingerless gloves based on the show Castle, which I also love. I am a writer, and have always wanted the writer flack vest that he wears. silentblair totally trumped that and made me fingerless gloves that I can wear when I am freezing at the office so I can continue typing away! I am the worst knitter ever, and anything like this feels like so much work to me. Knitted gifts make me emotional.  Roll Eyes

Moving on to a hilarious item, a mini-Jenga game with quotes from Statler and Waldorf of the Muppets, so that you can laugh whenever you pull a new piece out:

And the frosting on top... Benedict Cumberbatch plant markers for my Cumberpatch garden. Ha. These are hilarious.

Blair also included a Fozzie Bear Pez (I collect Pez), vintage Gremlins stickers, a Makit & Bakit kit (I was obsessed with these when I was little) and a bag of googly eyes that will be used extensively this Halloweeen.

Whew! I think that is everything... honestly, I am in a state of swap euphoria. Thank you so much, Blair. This was an amazing swap! I hope you like your goodies as much as I love mine!  Kiss

I received from the ever-talented and snarky Smmarrt, and let me just say, I am thrilled!

This will be hung in a place of honor in our laundry room. Grin

A peek at the back, which of course is also super cute:

And a bigger photo with a couple of extras -- I have been attempting to collect ATCs off the states, and she sent along this gorgeous one for California! And of course, maybe the best pendant ever made. Grin

Thank you so much Smmarrt for an amazing swap! I hope your package gets to you very soon. This has been a fun one!

13  Mumford & Sons Lyrics Via Wood Burning in Completed Projects by SonjaBoo on: July 25, 2014 04:43:18 PM

I made this for Mr. 'Boo for our anniversary this year in May. (We get that they are overplayed -- we just can't deny our love for them! Ha.) Anyway, I picked up the wooden piece at Michaels and then had at it with my wood burning tool. I designed it myself, and made up the fonts and all that. It was really fun to play around with lettering!

It's currently hanging above our fireplace, which I guess feels appropriate for a wood burning piece. Cheesy Here's a dark shot of it.

Thanks for looking!

17  Re: Mini Altered Tin Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: July 03, 2014 12:03:11 PM
Oh my goodness -- such awesome tins! I love all the different ideas!

So, I am late in sending my tin. At first my reason for being late was life was just insane in general around here lately, and then Mother Nature  insisted I try out this new stomach bug that has been going around, so I've been laid out flat for the majority of the week, feeling quite pitiful. And then what wonderfulness do I receive in my mailbox when I'm in the depths of despair? My tin from Onyxnox!

She sent me flowers! Grin Flowers while I'm on my deathbed! (Go ahead and roll your eyes. My husband did too.)

How incredibly sweet is this? The flowers are made from sheet music and the tin (which is round and adorable) is the pot and is covered with polymer clay. And here's the inside:

There's a ladybug inside! How adorable is that?

Onyxnox, this tin is beautiful and is loved to bits -- thank you so much!

Ludi, that is amazing! Cheesy Beautiful work.

rockingbearrancch received my spool, but it evidently experienced some distress on the way over, despite what I thought would be enough packaging to save it from the evils of the US Postal Service. Sad It sounds like it may be fixable, so I am hoping it isn't too bad! Anyway, this is what I intended to send her.

I'm so sorry it had issue on its way to you rockingbearranch! I am happy to resend if you need me to.

Ok, this is my first time using the Craftster app on my phone - hoping this works do you can see the adorable spool that rockingbearranch made for me! It's a customizable garden with a gnome - so clever! That's a little bird nest in the tree, and the gnome and decorations can be moved around. Everything is so tiny! Grin

Thank you rockingbearranch for swapping! I had a stroke of inspiration last night, so progress should be made this week. Smiley
