Details of swap:
Many mixed-media artists out there have fun with Happy Mail swaps so lets bring one to Craftster! For this swap, youll beautifully decorate an envelope (something around a 6x9ish) in the way of your choice paint it, mix media it up, add fabric, whatever inspires you. (Remember, whatever you do, you need to leave white spots or labels for your addresses!) Then, youll include FIVE small but handmade (or hand altered) embellishments or crafting doo-dads for your partner to enjoy.

This is a low-pressure swap, with the only requirement being that you must send along five hand-made or hand-altered goodies, rather than store-bought. (Let's keep this inexpensive!)

What are crafting doo-dads, you ask? Here are some ideas!
Handmade  stickers, cards, altered tags, crafty ephemera, glue stencils, inchies, altered paperclips, ATCs, hand-cut stencils, paper feathers, paper flowers, altered buttons, etc. (And many other ideas not even mentioned here! Use your imagination, as long as someone can craft with it and you made it.)

3  Happy Mail Swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by SonjaBoo on: July 28, 2016 04:08:40 AM
Who can be sad when they receive Happy Mail?  Grin

Many mixed-media artists out there have fun with Happy Mail swaps, and I thought maybe there are some Craftsters who would too! Essentially, you would beautifully decorate an envelope (probably a slightly larger one than letter size), and include fun doo-dads that you have made like stickers, a card, bits of ephemera, glue stencils, inchies, an ATC or two, etc.

This would be a low-pressure swap, with the only requirement being that you must send along only hand-made or hand-altered goodies, rather than store-bought. (Let's keep this inexpensive!)

4  Re: Box of Sunshine Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: May 24, 2016 03:54:08 AM
I am so late in posting to this gallery -- we had a death in our family, so things have been crazy.  I received a wonderful and much needed box of sunshine from zcrafter a few weeks ago and wanted to make sure that I got some photos up of the awesome stuff she sent along!

First up, all the sunny extras. Seriously, how happy is this stuff? Cheesy

Next, some gorgeous goodies for my kitchen -- a dishtowel (that will never see dishes, it's way too pretty), a potholder/trivet and a washing cloth (again, probably will never see dishes. It's for me to look at lovingly and hold every once in a while. Cheesy)  These are all a beautiful butter yellow.

Then, some awesome handmade cards! How gorgeous are these?

Thank you so much, zcrafter, for a wonderful swap! I apologize profusely for taking so long to show everyone what beautiful things you made! Cheesy

Oh man, there's some good stuff happening here! I'd love to see the projects that everyone ends up making with their loot. Grin

Speaking of loot, I received an amazing package from kbrison -- I think there will be some card making in my future! (Also, did you know they have Spiderman flat rate boxes? My husband was pretty jealous. Cheesy) There were tons of scrapbooking papers and card stock, tags, die cuts, ephemera... in general, awesomeness.

And some close ups:

I am crazy about these flowers!

These are tags made from recycled cardboard and such -- I have lots of ideas for these!

Thank you so much for a lovely swap, kbrison! I love it all!

I have received an incredible package from gigglygirl! I am having some issues with my photos, so you may have to turn your head for some of them. In the meantime, prepare to be amazed at how much loot she can stuff into a flat rate! Cheesy (There are a LOT of photos here.)

Here's the first look when I opened it -- goodies were up to the very top! Gigglygirl made two beautiful origami banners that I will be hanging in my craft room. Cheesy

She also made this beautiful box that I am now obsessed with -- I really love it.  This photo is wonky for some reason, even though I keep trying to edit it! You can see the banners in the background.

This is the back of the box:

Here are the goodies inside that box -- gorgeous buttons, cards, vintage images printed on photo paper (brilliant! I have never done that!)

Here's a close up of the images on the photo paper -- I can't wait to dig in to these!

The next round to come out of the box -- a beautiful box with pressed flowers, more buttons, a sign with two adorable vintage kids, a mini easel, notepads, garden seeds, fabric and lace, a little book, and sewing notions.

Adorable cards, tags, more images on photo paper:

Then, there were tons of vintage pages from children's books... swoon! And folders with more surprises!

Inside one folder -- vintage photos!

Inside the next folder -- magazine images! Love them!

Inside the next folder, more images -- these are just a few samples. There were tons more.

And the last folder had some AMAZING old advertising that looked like it came out of a Saturday Evening Post. I'll be using this one in my Christmas decorating this year.

Despite all of these photos, there are still things I don't think I managed to take a photo of -- but you get the general idea! Thank you so much for being an amazing swap partner, gigglygirl! You spoiled me rotten. Cheesy

8  Superhero Alphabet Sampler (My Sistine Chapel) in Needlework: Completed Projects by SonjaBoo on: February 05, 2016 03:58:16 AM
After working on this for two years, I am absolutely thrilled to say that this sampler is done! It was a Christmas gift for my four-year-old nephew who is learning to read, and who currently thinks he is Captain America. (Or Batman, or Ironman, depending on the day.)

Here are some close ups of the characters. Nightcrawler, Wonder Woman and Union Jack are some of my favorites. Cheesy

I signed it on the bottom with freehand stitching, which I was pretty proud of. I normally can't even write that neatly. Cheesy

If you are interested in the pattern, it is from weelittlestitches on Etsy! I changed my color background and letters from what they recommended, and I think it worked out pretty well. (I made the change because, at the time, my JoAnn's only had a few colors of fabric to choose from.)  https://www.etsy.com/listing/80948839/the-original-pixel-people-superhero?ref=shop_home_active_14

I told my husband that this was my Sistine Chapel. I will probably never work this big again! Ha.  Cheesy

10  Good, Old-Fashioned Paper, Ephemera & Embellishment Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by SonjaBoo on: January 22, 2016 04:12:20 AM
What better way to start the new year than to spice up your paper crafting stash with some new-to-you papers, yummy ephemera and gorgeous embellishments? Let's swap!

For this swap, I am thinking that we could stuff a small, medium or large flat-rate box, depending on your preference. (We'll match partners accordingly.)  International swappers would be welcome too, of course, but we'll have to figure out the best/most economical routes for you!

What would we be swapping? Here are some ideas!

Paper: Scrapbook paper, book pages, foreign language pages, textbook pages, tags, handmade papers, magazine bits, catalog bits, wrapping paper, painted papers, papers you have altered, mini books, etc.

Ephemera: Old photos, postcards, gift tags, trims, stickers, filigree, old advertisements, vintage papery things, maps, etc.

Embellishments: Buttons, bingo tabs, paper flowers, bling, paper cut outs from a Sizzix (etc.), chipboard, and much more!

Those are just some ideas -- and of course, it's always fun to include some papers or embellishments that you have made yourself!

So what do you think? Anyone up for it?  Grin
