1  Re: Journal Cover Swap (Send Out, March 16) in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: March 18, 2015 07:01:23 PM
Yay! I'm so glad that you like it. The little birds were fun to work on. Cheesy

And just so you can see the similarities... here is the absolutely gorgeous journal cover that artsycandice sent to me! Notice the batik and stitching -- we seemed to be on the same wavelength with this swap. Cheesy Also, I just love the colors and giant felt flower!

The back:

The inside -- featuring pockets and bookmark!

Thank you so much artsycandice -- this was an amazing swap!

Yay! I'm so glad you liked everything!  I was hoping you would like the necklace -- I was a little intimidated to make it at first, but once it got rolling it was really fun to work with. I'm thinking I might need one myself one day! Grin

I am finally getting up photos of the gorgeous necklace and goodies that you sent. (Sorry for the hold up, my computer has been difficult with photos this week!)

So first off, everyone -- prepare to be seriously jealous! Check out the gorgeous fabrics and stitching on this necklace! I am in love!

And here are some awesome extras that I am already hoarding:

stellato_escuro, thank you for such a beautiful swap! Grin This was a treat!

3  Re: Prayer Flag Swap R5: New Year, New Inspiration: Gallery of Goodies in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: March 08, 2015 05:19:31 AM
This is really a beautiful gallery. I love everyone's interpretations of words and use of colors and fabrics. Could you imagine if we had them all together somewhere? That might be too much awesomeness to handle!

jenleahlynn, I'm so glad the pinks didn't turn you off -- I am not a pink girl either, but something about this theme just drew the romantic out of me! (I would be happy to make you a new flag if you are just being polite. Grin)

alwaysinmyroom, I'm thrilled you liked your gold/silver flag! It was so fun to make -- luminous is a challenging word to work with. I loved it.

Wulf, I had that old map and knew I wanted to do something with it for your flag. It was fun to work with! I think I liked making this flag the most since it was so different from all the others. Very glad it has gone to a happy home.

Both are quite lovely!  I love the beaded center of the Calm flag and the painted image on the Believe flag!

Not sure if SonjaBoo is still having difficulties uploading from her camera, so I will post the GROW flag I made for her:

Thank you alwaysinmyroom -- I am so sorry I didn't get a pic up sooner! Here's the one that I took -- I absolutely adore this flag. (Look at those roots -- things grow in many ways, don't they?) alwaysinmyroom has outdone herself once again!

Wow -- this is a stunning gallery! Definitely one of my favorites of all time, I think. So many beautiful pieces here.

I am thrilled that I have some more gorgeousness to add to this already gorgeous gallery! My general theme for my flags was gardening, growth, beautiful flowers and such. I live in Massachusetts, and right now, all of those things are far, far, far away. (We've gotten already 8 feet of snow in the past few months! We aren't used to this abuse!)

First up, from Wulf -- believe. I believe the snow will melt, and we'll see something green eventually! Grin This flag is just beautiful and was the first one that I received. I adore it.

Next up, from jenleahlynn, dream. This one is just stunning! The colors are incredible and I just love that little hummingbird.

And from cmarion, create. Who can have the winter blues when you see these gorgeous flowers and colors? I feel rejuvenated!

I have another one to post a photo of -- from alwaysinmyroom -- but my computer is being fussy and not uploading the photo right now. But trust me, it's gorgeous. And I'll get the pic up as soon as I master this technology. Grin

Thank you all for such a beautiful and inspiring swap!

Oh my goodness -- what an adorable package! I love the doll and the hoopla!

I received from lindyv321, who quite frankly, spoiled me rotten. I had the longest week ever and it was such a treat to open this box that was overflowing with heart goodness!

There were crafty goodies. There were extras. There was candy. There was an awesome book of "vintage" valentines that I am drooling over at the moment. I love everything!

And a close up of the crafted goodies -- I love that hoopla! And the jewelry is awesome -- I have the bracelet on already, and will wear the necklace tomorrow too Cheesy And I love the little frame -- so sweet!

Thank you so much lindyv321 for everything!!

6  All You Need Is Love Canvas in Valentine's Day by SonjaBoo on: February 10, 2015 03:28:40 PM
I made this for lindyv321 in the Valentine swap -- I had so much fun with this canvas! It was inspired by some art on her Pinterest board. This one involves lots of paint, sprays, stencils and generally just making a mess. That's my favorite kind of project. Grin

Here's a few closeups so you can see the texture:

Thanks for looking!

8  A Tray Full of Love in Valentine's Day by SonjaBoo on: February 10, 2015 02:59:31 PM
I have had this shadowbox/tray for ages and finally got inspired to do something with it -- Cupid evidently shot his arrow into my brain!

There's a little bit of everything here. Heart beads, buttons, paper flowers, ephemera, etc. The big silver key is something I picked up in the bargain bin in Michaels at least a year ago, and the big heart in the center is plastic and colored with alcohol inks. The silver heart down in the lower left corner was a dud experiment with a melti-pot, but it worked out fine for this. The cupid up at the top was a plastic cake decoration that I then applied some gold burnishing stuff too -- pretty classy!

Here's a before and after of how the Cupids came out -- I have about four more that are looking for a home now.

Anyway, this was definitely a stash buster! I'm totally in the mood for Valentine's Day now. Cheesy

Thanks for looking!

9  Re: Ongoing Offer What You Have Swap - Sign up November, 2014 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by SonjaBoo on: November 19, 2014 06:45:35 PM
I claim anna.wahnsinn for a French-German dictionary and the bees wax pellets!

Claims allowed at one time: 3
Total claims: 1
Claims outstanding: 0
In transit: 0

Choose 1:
Rapunzel scarf -- super soft with pink, white, black yarns. I made this a while ago and it's never been used.

Deer cards -- I made these last year for our family Thanksgiving party. I was going to send out formal invitations. They didn't make it. Cheesy Now they can be yours! Seven deer cards with brown envelopes. The cards are blank inside.

Microscope slide pendants -- these are some of my overstock from when I had an Etsy shop a few years back. (Someday maybe it will return. But not today!) There's Supergirl, Green Lantern, an orange flower that has had the solder antiqued, and a forget-me-not that has faded a bit. (Still pretty -- this one is encased in two bevels.) Can send with or without a cord to wear them from!

Kanzashi brooches -- all four for 1 point, or take one for 1/4 of a claim. I made these as well and they are also overstock from my Etsy.

1/2 point...

Yarn! All three for 1/2 a point! A giant ball of yellow chenille yarn and two smaller skeins of soft yarns. I don't think they are full skeins, but very little was used of either. They are lovely colors!

1/4 point each! Bargain basement prices! Grin

Craft books - 1/4 point each. Tons of paper projects in these!

This fabric is a somewhat stretchy cotton that is 16" wide and about 4 and a half feet long -- a weird cut, but the print is super cute! Great for baby stuff.

Hair pins! Choose from orange marbles, gold buttons or french fries. I set for 1/4 point.

For your altered art/paper needs. Acrylic album, art parts kit, small book with "girlfriend" papers inside that you can alter.

Chipboard flowers -- can combine these to make a book. (You get all the chipboard flower.). Grow book kit -- to make a cute book for someone expecting a little girl. Sold!

Chipboard forest critters -- all for 1/4 claim.

Embellishments! All for 1/4 claim. Chipboard cool people, black felt bug border, blue flowers.

Stamps -- most of these are used, but in good shape. Pick 4 for 1/4 claim.

Lot of vintage bias tape:

Lot of vintage zippers and lace trim:

7 Gypsies fabric-like paisley tape embellishment or box of colorful brads (never opened)

"Ticket" embellishments -- great for altered books or scrapping or making Christmas tags, etc. They are on a heavy plastic -- I think they may also be 7 gypsies.

Vintage crafting books! My aunt passed these along to me, and I just know that I am not honestly going to use them. I'd be happy if they went to a good home! Let's say choose 2 for 1/4 point!

10  Re: Holiday Tag Swap - Round 2 Gallery... in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: November 19, 2014 06:24:31 PM
I finally have pictures for this drool-worthy gallery! I apologize for taking so long -- we have had computer issues.

First, some incredible tags from Flygirl88 -- they have such a vintage feel, I adore them!

A close-up of some extra-special tags -- these have vintage sequins in them from her grandmother's sewing stash. I treasure these!

And they were all sent along with this beautiful card with hot-air balloons:

Next, some gorgeous tags from Onyxnox -- I really can't pick a favorite!

I can't seem to get this photo where it's NOT sideways... so sorry. But hopefully you get the gist of how awesome these are! Also shown is the awesome deer card she sent them in:

And finally, from bec99 -- amazing counted-cross stitch tags! I don't want to give these away. Cheesy

Thank you ladies so much for swapping tags with me -- I really love them all. They will make for very festive gift giving! Grin
