I'm halfway through my first(made with fingering weight yarn) but went ahead and took advantage of the SWS sale at Michaels I got natural geranium but I might overdye it if it's too barbie. The callendar companies should come out with a clapotis callendar! lol
Do you love the trims, lace, buttons, ribbon, sequins, feathers, studs, rhinestones, pompoms, googly eyes, bells and felt-mambobs at the craft store? Why not have a swap where you embellish an item(like a tote, frame, t-shirt, pillow, etc.)using the wildest limits of your crafty imagination?
It'd be a chance to break out the hot glue gun, the bedazzler, the spin-art maker, the embroidering supplies, and embellish the heck out of an item of your partner's choice in your partner's style:) The more fantastic, gaudy, and frivolous the better!
I am a yarn addict. Here's the list: - 5 or 6 skeins of Homespun for an afghan for my mom - 1 1/2 skeins of Schaefer Ann (fingering weight, kermie colorway, 560yds a skein) for a clapotis WIP - 1 partially used ball of white JoAnn 'dolcetto' yarn, soooo soft - 1 partial skein of TLC Amore in celery - 1 partial skein of redheart DK in hunter green - 1 honkin' big skein of Lionbrand fishermen wool (about 450ish yards) - 1 ball of recycled sari silk - 4 skeins of simply soft for a swap - about 1 skein's worth of simply soft used in a half-done, mostly frogged project - 1 skein of JoAnn 'licorice' - 2 or so skeins of some other Joann yarns - 1 ball of horrid 'ladder' yarn - 2 more skeins of tweedy acrylic wow...that's like 24 skeins!! and I was sooo tempted to get some SWS for another clapotis, and we only have like 2 months of mild winter here...
Really timely for this swap, Showtime has been airing The Last Unicorn! woot! Granted, it's not the same to me at is was when I was 7 or 10 or so, but still really inspiring:) I went to JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby for various swapping supplies, got some good ideas
BTW, if any of you haven't recieved your partner's info for some strange reason, PM me straightaway!
