21  springtime in tokyo tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thebagfairy on: January 14, 2006 01:36:50 PM
This is my "Springtime in Tokyo" tote, inspired by an awesome creation of PucchiMaiko's: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=64504.0. The 'geometry' is a little different cos I couldn't figure out how big/little to make the squares, but I'm happy with how it turned out Smiley The exterior is made out of pink and platinum fat quarter brocades from JoAnn and the interior is made of light green dupioni silk. The closure is a cute little frog clasp.

the lining isn't as loosey-goosey as it looks in the pic:

comments and criticism welcome:) thanks for looking

22  Why Mama,...why?! in Knitting: Completed Projects by thebagfairy on: January 02, 2006 05:37:45 AM
1 skein of Red Heart Supersaver in Pinata, a pair of size 8 needles and a week later I subjected my poor dog Maggie to this superbly unflattering rainbow-riffic sleeveless turtleneck. There comes a time in every child's life when they must wear some horrible sweater their mother made...

lalalibertine that lace bow is awesome!
this was a challenge to put together but well worth the effort. I used black velour and embroidered tiny silver stars on. thanks so much for the tutorial, tinafish, you rock!!

24  bagfairy begins (pic heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thebagfairy on: January 02, 2006 03:25:14 AM
long story short: long time lurker, inspired by all the talented people on this forum, finally got a digicam:

this yellow bag was one of my very first projects, and boy was it a pain to make:
and the inside:

next up is this poor little skipping bag. I think I'll knit a couple of flower pins for it:
I used one of the nifty magnetic snap tutorials for the closure, and managed a cute little jeans-style pocket:

and now for my pride and joy, an embroidery project that took up weeks of my summer break:
a detail of the flystitching and bullion knots:

more to come! it's so exciting to be able to share all the projects inspired by this site:)
