1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Sheets to slipcover to springy retro dress! on: April 06, 2010 11:21:19 AM
Can you explain a little more clearly for a sewing noob? I've been looking for a dress for a while now and yours is exactly the right shape, although I'd have to mess with the neckline a little.

I'd really like to know how to make a dress like yours. If you have time, I'd love a diagram.

Cheesy
2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: TWO-Hour Sweater! on: October 09, 2009 08:43:21 PM
This looks really cool. I've never made a sweater because I'm slow knitter, but this looks worth trying. I'm not sure about short sleeves though, my arms are always cold.
To make long sleeve, you'd just knit the sleeve bit longer in stockinette and then end in ribbing, right?
Also I looked up vintage sizing and nothing seems particularly consistent. My bust is just under 36" and some places say that this should fit fine, others say I should wear several sizes over 14 for vintage sizing. Can anyone who's finished measure flat across the sweater? I don't want one that's too tight.

I prefer circs for carrying my stuff around, so what cord length would be best for doing this?

What I hate is that I can never find bras that fit properly. Apparently I need smaller boobs or a larger ribcage to be able to actually find bras that fit. I don't think my size (32C) is even all that uncommon. Am I just crazy? I'm honestly starting to think that one of the universal laws is that when women are shopping, they will find every size bra Excaept what they need........

If I had the money I would buy that. About how much are you thinking of selling it for?
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: the craftiest scooter(s) ever! Post em' if you got em'! on: January 20, 2006 08:10:21 PM
Are scooters hard to drive? A family friend is moving overseas and offered me her old scooter. (I'll have to ask what kind it is. I think it's 80-ish, maybe 90's?) I know it's red would it be expensive to get painted? I don't *hate* red, I just like almost every other color better. I was thinking that next year when I can drive I could use it for going to school. I live 2.5 miles away. But I do live in western washington, so we get lots of rain (I think we're up to 32 in a row today, maybe more). Would a scooter get wrecked sitting out in the rain all day? Would it be possible to make uber-waterproof saddle-bags? Also my mother wants to know if scooters are fairly safe to drive.

Sorry for the mini-interrogation.

Bonne chance with your college apps. I really love the first skirt. Is your avatar picture of you? Because if it is, I'm fairly certain I've seen you around LJ.

I think buttons would be nice, just little plain black ones.
