Well, would you believe I received package number THREE from Retromiad, surely the queen of the early senders (and so understanding as she waits for me to catch up!)

It's another super package!  She sent: a needlepoint with some of my favourite colours in it; a knitted bear (I'm the lucky recipient of most of Retromiad's knitting so far; a glasses case with Wile E Coyote on one side and Road Runner on the other (love it!), butterflies and a game in which you 'build' historic houses becuase she knows I collect games.  Thanks Retromiad!

Thanks for three such great packages!  Not too long to wait for mine now, and then we're done.  Yay us!

Great packages everyone!  Those puzzles look so fun...

Can you believe i received Package #2  from Retromiad already?!!

And it's the most amazing package!  Retromiad has not been knitting for all that long, but since the day we signed up she has been knitting for me!!  I'm so excited.

She sent me a matching scarf and hat in really lovely purple and green with touches of other favourite colours.  I'm so pleased with the hat - i tend to buy hats too big, and this is just right!  It's the first hand-made hat i ever had!  The scarf has my intials on, and you should have heard me squeal when i discovered that! and there are some mittens which are a lovely bluey greeny colour.  I suspect that Retromiad knew that mittens are one of my favourite things!

She also sent a little trinket box, and a bear!  One day, I will get her to tell  me how she makes her cool plastic canvas things.

It's all so cool, and I know how much work went into everything, which makes it all extra-special!  Love ya, partner!!   Grin

Yay!  Retromiad has been so patient waiting for me to receive.  First the post took forever, then i was on holiday!  But i have it now, and i love everything!

Here are the stationery items - i love stationery, and these are brilliant!

Here's a closer shot of the paper and envelopes, they are recycled and handmade and just my thing.  the paper has purple plant fibres in it, and Retromiad wrote her (cute!) letter on a piece of it!

Here are the show and tells:

orange shower smoothie (smells amazing) washcloth (knit) and bath puff
DVDs of the Shining and National Lampoon which i can't wait to watch
a lovely edition of Jane Austen's Emma
and a pack of Reece's peanut butter chocolates, which ceased to be before they made it to the picture!

You can see the cloth better here

and the piece de resistance!!!  she made me BLYTHE things!!!  Shocked
they are so awesome, and i love that she didn't theink 'eek, creepy dolls!' like most people!

Retromiad made the bags, the hat, shawl and the socks, and all without seeing a Blythe!

And look - knitting Blythe, as kitted out by Retromiad with knitting bag, bear project, needles and yarn!

I know there are loads of photos, but she made such gorgeous things.  Thanks partner!!   Grin

4  Crop challenge LO in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by Mave on: January 27, 2008 08:54:26 AM
I've just started going to a crop (scrapbooking club).  There is a challenge each time, and this is the layout i made for the last one.  It's based on my favourite things.

We had to include:
red and green
a hidden photo
a song lyric in the title
ourselves as the main subject
and a technique we hadn't tried before.

I was really pleased with how this one came out (the colours are very washed out in this first pic though).

Here's the hidden photo and journalling

the title is my favourite part

hope you like it!

5  Re: An Xmas Ornament in a Week Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Mave on: November 25, 2007 04:06:09 PM
I received from Retromiad - a completely brilliant swap partner!

She made these gorgeous plastic canvas ornaments, which i really love.  The star is going on top of my tree.  It's made from lots of different pieces, and it has feathers!  Both ornaments have really nice sparkly detailing on them.

Thanks, Retromiad, it was great being your partner!

Love that mitten!

OK, here are some more pics - first, the embroidered ornament from Beetastic.  I looooove it!  It's so retro and cool, and the embroidery is a-mazing!

and this is the back of it (or possibly the front!):

Beetastic also sent a very cute Christmas card!  Thanks for being a great partner Bee, and thanks also for the stitching tips!

And today i received these GORGEOUS ornaments from Muria:

The snowflake is beaded wire, and is delicate and twinkly and perfect!  The little wreath is so cute - it has tiny pine cones and sparkly leaves and berries!  It's so detailed - i love it - thanks Muria, these will both look great on my tree...

OK - here we go with the fantastic things i received (ages ago - sorry  Embarrassed) from Raenef!

Here they all are

this is a scroll with shakespeare's spell from The Shakespeare Code (one of my favourite episodes - amazing detail.  did you write it out?  if you did i'm so jealous!

this is the fantastic swap journal - i've wanted one for so long, and it has really funny captions (daleks don't approve of crafting, apparently) and also the extra sexy crafty doctor picture on the front

AND reanef did sewing for me!  i can't sew at all, so i'm extra amazed and impressed by the squishy tardis, which is hand painted and looks great!

and this super smart bag - i love the caption!

Raenef, thankyou so much.  your skills are fantastic, especially the fabric painting.  i'm such a lucky girl!
