3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: How's your Etsy shop doing now? on: June 17, 2007 08:26:10 AM
hi everyone
sewbettie i think 10 items is good to start with and its a good idea to add 1 new item a day rather than waiting and posting all at once because you tend to get more views when you first list things.

I have a question about bags I mostly make pleated clutches just sort of out of habbit and not have much fabric to play around with, but I just got a few different fabrics from alexander henry that i love and I've been makeing some plain totes and I'm going to make another bigger bag too.  Do bigger bags sell better seeing as there more practical?

hello  everyone not posted in ages i didnt no craftster had changed either i got a fright

Thanks you guys!
Its so nice to come over here and see all the well wishes, hugs and that cute tomato!

Now back to my shop  Roll Eyes
I just listed a custom order I made (the samples i had sent sockdiva )
and i was featured on Omiru http://omiru.com/index.php/2007/06/13/hand-wrapped-vintage-gemstone-sculpture-ring !
that ring was to expire today, so i re-listed it
what timing Wink

which brings me to my question: i have not sold one single ring on etsy, and, at fairs and such, they are always a great hit...!
is it my pictures?
my price?
or just luck / timing / saturation of the jewelry category?

thanks for reading, and all the nice words!

I really like all your pics and it's nice to see what the rings look like on. i think mabey it's just down to luck i'm not sure about anyone else but normally when i buy rings its in person as an impulse buy.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / ~ Steel Boned Polka Dot Underbust Corset ~ on: May 04, 2007 02:09:12 PM

Made my big sister (she's on here as intergalacticjo) an underbust corset a wee while ago.  I am her sewing slave.

here it is

the outer part in the making

It's guts

Jo's pillow modeling the finished corset lol

I made it by taking apart an old corset that fitted well but had icky fabric and makeing a pattern out of that please dont ask me how i honesly dont no how i managed it.

It looks loads better on but jo wouldnt let me take a pic of her in it coz it makes her doos look massive(er) and funnily high up.

Anyway there it is and I'm never ever makeing another sodding corset with out a pattern it nearly killed me.

 Cheesy Lauren
