21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: Floral Stripe Dress on: April 11, 2011 02:41:31 PM
That is super adorable!  Cheesy I love the colors, print... everything.

I hope you don't mind me "borrowing" your idea. These are adorable!  Smiley

Don't mind at all!  Grin

I made another pair tonight. I had a different pair of Wal-Mart sandals in my closet from last year. I used really big hot pink flowers this time. They're kinda goofy, but I like 'em. I'll add a picture later.  Smiley

Thanks, everybody!  Cheesy

They look fab! And I love your painted nails! How on earth did you manage that detail? I struggle with one colour  Roll Eyes

Thank you!  Smiley I just started venturing into "nail art" and I'm not really good at it, either. But the strawberries are easy. I just paint the entire nail red, then I use my green Stripe Rite (it has a really tiny brush... I got it at Sally's) to do the stem. Then I dip a toothpick in yellow polish to make the polka dots. The first time I did it, it didn't look that great, but I'm slowly getting better.  Tongue

First of all, a sneak peak:

So basically, I came across these really cute sandals from ModCloth.

Unfortunately, they are $94.99 and there was no way I would ever pay that much money for shoes, let alone sandals. So I pouted and went about my day.

A little while later I was walking through Wal-Mart when I spotted these brown sandals for $10.

That's when I got my brilliant idea! I bought the sandals and went to Michael's and purchased some light pink fake flowers for $3.99 (on sale).

I got out my E6000 and glued those babies on! And now I have my own little DIY version of those super cute sandals. (I totally hate my feet, but I'll post the photo, anyway.  Embarrassed)

So, not difficult at all, but I'm still proud of them.  Grin

---------------

EDIT!

I made another pair. These sandals were also from Wal-Mart but varied slightly from the ones above. I forgot the before pic, though.  Undecided I used large hot pink fake flowers for these.

They are kind of goofy, but I think they'd look cute if I wore them to the beach or somethin'.  Grin

25  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Collars for my (now 9 months old!) bulldog, Betty Buttons on: April 05, 2011 01:32:47 AM
So you may remember this topic: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=360051.0

Betty is now 9 months old and I'm still making her tons of collars! She probably has a new collar every 2 weeks. I know... pitiful.  Undecided

This was the first collar I made where I added a fabric bow. I usually use ribbon, but I think fabric bows are the way to go. I also added the signature buttons.  Wink

This is one of my favorites. I got the girliest floral print fabric and turned it into a collar.  Cheesy

My boyfriend says it looks like "grandma's sofa" fabric... but I think it's pretty.  Roll Eyes

Betty recently graduated from puppy school and her instructor was so impressed by Betty's collars (she had a new one every week   Lips sealed ) that she convinced me into turning it into a business. She's already ordered two for her Boston Terriers. I'm excited!  Smiley

And only because she's so cute:

So cute! I love all of your stuff!

The other day I stumbled across your fashion blog through tumblr and was thinking how great your style was. Then I got to the post where you linked to your shop and I was like "OMG I KNOW WHO THIS IS! SHE'S ON CRAFTSTER!" Small world, haha.

Thanks so much for the wonderful comments, everyone!  Cheesy

my woolly bully bull dog peed on my sheets to.... the best way to get them to stop is to make furniture a no no and when she gets older she will stop. They are stubborn to train, but ours is 18 months and is so so good now.

I wanna make bull dog jewelry now to.... you did a great job

OMG... Betty insists on peeing on the dog beds and on my bed (although that is becoming more rare). I had to buy a plastic sheet, lol. It is like she is marking them. She still pees on the carpet every once in a while, too. I'm going insane! We took her outside every hour when she was a little puppy and rewarded her every time she pottied outside, so I have no idea why she is still having trouble at 8 months old! We have a dog door and she goes in and out constantly... so I cannot figure out why this is still a problem. She's in training classes and is the smartest in the class. It's just the potty training that has been a problem. She is so stubborn!

Oh my gosh, how cute! I use buttons for like... zillions of things... but I hadn't thought of magnets.
