1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / I made hubby a tool belt!!! on: July 26, 2006 01:06:23 AM
Hello!
Well I was bored of making things for myself all the time, and to be honest, starting to feel a little selfish. I'm always asking hubby if there's anything he wants me to make but all I get back is "nah, can't think of anything, ta".
So, I had a think... what does he do more than anything else... work on the bloody cars and building stuff is what. And this is what came of that!

I wanted it to be a surprise but I had to find out how many pockets it needed, zips etc. So we have 2 large pockets (1 with zipper), 2 smaller pockets and a tiny pouch with zipper, it's held together with a buckle and of course it sports a loop so he can hang his hammer. Ha! Very nearly put the loop in front but realised that if I want kids I'd better not! And I used my hot glue gun for the very first time putting on the embellishments - yay!
Now he wants me to make 'pockets' for the car seat, what have I unleashed?!?!?!?
Anyways, thanks for looking!

Instead of becoming angry, or offended, aimy, you should educate people so that they know. There's no point in getting mad at someone when they don't know what your truth is. You should ask yourself why you really feel angry and upset, and meditate on it.

Also, I prefer to call it being naive than being "stupid", I think that's a rude way to put it, but I also know what your intent is by saying that, and that it's in light of the situation.

Quick education: I am also Buddhist, so this is why I made the point to say he is not a God. And really, off topic here, Buddhism generally is not a religion. There are a few sects who worship Buddha, but that came along only in recent years. Generally buddhists appreciate the Buddhas' teachings and are guided by them. It's like giving thanks when they bow. This is why Buddha is not a God. A god is a worshipped deity. A reason that most people don't know this is because in schools, Buddhism is included in the "religion" section of history, when really it's just a way of life. Which, I suppose, most religions are, if not all, but all religions worship also. And the definition of religion is changing in the dictionaries to also include "a way of life or believing", so this creates confusion. And yes, not all Buddhas are fat. And yes, there are more than one. End of lesson

There's no malice behind the idea, it's all in good fun.

Back to crafting ---
Again, the idea of the shirt is cute, and it actually made me laugh, I just thought I would let you know the history, a little bit. Also, the smudge of paint might be curable with oxy-clean, or you could get white paint and paint over it.

And I know I'm not a mod here, but please keep the future comments constructive, and if you have a problem, PM or write in your journal (or whatever you do to vent). I know that if this goes on any further, the mods will come down on this thread. I've seen it happen many times.

Totally agree with you humblestumble, but, all religions have the p**s taken out of them. Some people just aren't enlightened  Tongue Roll Eyes

To add further fuel to the anger - you could make a shirt for a girl with the caption: I have the body of a goddess, shame it's the Venus of Willendorf...
No bashing please! I used to describe myself as that, it's just humour!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Apron top and skirt - a hellish nightmare! on: June 29, 2006 06:49:28 AM
I did it! It took me two days but I did it! 3 metres of flimsy fabric into half a metre of gathered hell (the bottom tier anyway)! It didnt help that my machine has been playing up something rotten, so after calling it all the nasty names under the sun it finally came through in the end. Mind you, each stitch was sewn so slowly me a bloody hour to do the bottom tier just to do one tier!?! (insert mental image of girl stomping foot and shaking fist!)

And now that I have finished top and skirt I come to this conclusion I look like Im wearing a bloody mermaid costume!

Anyway, heres the final outcome comments would be great!

Since I quit my job two weeks ago I've been on a sewing roll, oh I'm loving it soooooo much! Anyhoo, here's me bags - one's a hobo (of course!) and the other is just a shoulder bag but 'cos it's made from thick suedette (fabric my hubby used to upholster the car seats) it's made my poor sewing machine make a nasty whirring sound BAD SUEDETTE STUFF!... Sorry, went a bit OT... here they are  Lips sealed
