I'm thrilled you liked everything, Glenda  Cheesy

I was kindaworried about the windchime because I had to sort of reconstruct it from the pieces of another windchime which was so fiddly and I kept thinking "this is so going to just fall apart  Shocked" but, yep  Smiley

Sorry for the late reply, too, I've been away from home without much internet access for the past few days.

Homerof2, that scarecrow is ADORABLE!  Grin
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Decorated bead box on: June 19, 2008 08:50:08 AM
Hullo folks  Smiley

So, I have a little cheap wooden box in which I keep my beads and stuff, well really it's just a little bead kit thing I got as a gift a while back, actually that's totally irrelevent. The point it, it was plain and not so special looking so I decided to give it a bit of a makeover.

Now my beads can have somewhere nice to live  Wink
The colours are actually just pencil crayon, the black outline is indian ink and the white dots are white ink too, but, as I thought later, good old tippex (correction fluid, white out, whatever you wanna call it) would probably have done just aswell :p And I sprayed over it with hairspray, yeah really, it's a good sealant for things like pastel and pencil crayon and gives this box a bit of a shine too  Cheesy

Thanks for looking, have a lovely day  Smiley

Oh yeah, and here's why I shouldn't open anything with bubble wrap in the same room as George

Well, you guys are gonna be pretty jealous when you're done reading this post  Wink

Ok so I came home about 12.30 from the most gruelling three hour psychology exam (that isn't even going to count towards my final grade anyways) feeling drained and tired when what should I find waiting for me on my bed but the most enormous parcel I've probably ever received  Grin

Oh yes, Cheesy so I took it downstairs, armed with a camera to commence the awesome.
OH! *this bit added from the future*just about to click post and I haven't told you my themes! They were:
1)Victorians
2)Winter
3)India
4)Birds (especially ravens)
5)Dragons

George, eyeing it up suspiciously, here I've started to hack my way in with a tiny pair of nail scissors, why I didn't just go swap them for some proper scissors that can't have been more than a few yards away at the time instead of just struggling on with the tiny little things is beyond me  Huh but anyways, I got into it eventually Wink

Everything wrapped up!

These were the first thing I opened, adorable little trinket boxes decorated to fit my victorian theme, I think I just found a new home for some of my make-up

Slightly different angle  Tongue

Then there was this goreous sketchbook with a lovely dragon embroidered on the front

The paper itself is really nice too, it's like she knew I'd just run out of nice paper for watercolours

Now this is might be my favourite item (what am I saying, it's impossible to pick a favourite!), it's a fleecey blanket with wintery patterns on it, perfect for going to uni in September, I hear the halls of residence up in Scotland can be pretty cold

The underside is actually more purple in real life than this photo makes out

action shot of the stencilled tee with a raven on it, it's so neatly done, I can't believe this was her first time stencilling, also it's a lovely shade of blue  Smiley

Close up, doesn't do it justice though

Lotus flower earrings which I love! They're made using shrinky dink which I think I'll have to have a go at some time if I can get hold of some, I'm wearing them right now so I'll have to get an action shot a bit later perhaps, oh and they were on the back of this beautiful photo taken by her husband.

And finally some really sweet extras including homemade cards (more awesome photography from her husband), some postcards from Texas and some texas themed playing cards!

Thanks you so very very much Glenda, you have been an amazing partner and made my first swap so awesome Grin

Of course now I'm worrying about the fact that the items I sent you were alot less awesome than this  Embarrassed and about customs going through my poorly labelled parcel!  Tongue

just as a note* the button detail on those gloves is so you can remove your hand from the glove without removing the whole thing so you can take a wedding ring on your finger!

Oh that's interesting, Smiley so are they gloves especially for weddings?

Oh wow, swap anxiety for the win!  Shocked

loving the Virgin Mary earrings and those gloves are gorgeous, looks like everyone in this swap has pretty damn good taste  Wink
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The Pick-n-Choose Theme Swap (Sign ups: CLOSED! Sendouts: 06/18) on: June 17, 2008 03:20:21 AM
Catherine, just for grins I checked to see if the customs number for my package to you had been entered by the U.S. postal service (the clerk said sometimes it gets entered, but not always). It had been entered and shows the package left the States on June 13th!! Hope you get it this week.

*Quivers with excitement*

Ooh, hurry up, mr. postman!  Grin
