1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / help with kenmore sewing machine? on: September 19, 2007 01:25:59 PM
my aunt recently gave me her old sewing machine that she hadn't been using.
she assured me everything was in proper working condition, but she could find the manual.
it's a kenmore by sears, model # 158.13200.
my mother has a kenmore manual that's very similar to my sewing machine, so this afternoon i just tried to wind a bobbin.
*edit:
so i got the wheel to move and the needle to stop moving;
however, the bobbin part isn't spinning. this is a problem? and, according to my mothers manual, i'm missing the bobbin winder tension disc? this might be why it's not working, but i don't see how missing this part makes the bobbin thing stop moving. ugh i don't know.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / wall hangings (: on: July 27, 2007 08:11:11 PM
haven't posted here in agesss.
hope this is the right place!

my father had a couple of pieces of scrap wood lying around, and i was in a crafty mood, so i painted on them. one went off as a graduation present, and the other was a birthday present.

sorry the pictures are terrible quality, my real camera is currently undergoing surgery.

i do have a question, though; where can i get scrap wood like the pieces above? i don't really want to pay a lot, if anything, for it.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Candy Cane Reindeer on: December 09, 2006 11:46:21 AM
my mom and i also used to make these.
but have you ever seen those candy cane pens?
we used to use those as well.
looked just like candy canes but, well, lasted longer!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / earrings<3 on: September 01, 2006 04:27:03 PM
sorry in advance for the horrid picture quality.
i keep trying to save for a new camera, but i always spend my savings.
):

i'll try to take some more in the sunlight, perhaps.

1. three buttons. two normal, red, round ones in the back, and a small red leaf one in the front. i guess it looks sortof fallish. simplistic.

2. lizards<3 i put holes through their heads using a bead reamer (i think that's what it's called) and twisted straight pins through them.

3. jarjar binks pog! i put a hole through the top using a dremmel and put some clear nail polish over the hole just in case.

4. i don't remember what this piece of hardware is called. it's probably something really simplistic like, eyeholescrewthingy. uhm. i was cleaning my room one time and found tons of rusty nails and assorted pieces of hardware. this was included. i think it's cute.

5. this is my favorite. i wish the picture came out better. its a small washer, and blue jewel pendant, and a dolphin charm put together with jump rings. i call it; sea world. or something like that. maybe i'll borrow a friend's camera and take picture's of them.

ps; i wear two different earrings at once, if you were wondering why i only have one of each (:

sorry, again, for the craptastic pictures. hopefully i'll have better ones up soon!

& i'm considering doing a personal/private swap with somebody within the US. anybody interested?

Elven: I was grey at 12 too.  Now I am 29 and I have almost 100 strands of grey.

Yeah,

I feel young now...NOT!

i knew a girl who had one grey stripe in the back of her hair. she was born with it.
is that from a hormone imbalance or does it just happen?

ScalpelofLove- Your hair is really pretty!!! It looks really good for not using bleach.

aw, thanks!
yeah, i might use bleach in the future.
i'm just worried about totally ruining my hair or burning my scalp.
i've heard many horror stories.

so, i dyed my hair again like i said i would.
i def. like the special effects stuff more than the normal color pulse i go with.
what do you guys think?

the picture doesn't really do it justice.
there's a lot of awesome highlights.
& i didn't bleach my hair before dying it.
me + bleach = no.

hola.
i have a question that i think one of you guys could help me with.
i normally dye my hair with that "color pulse" stuff by loreal. i go with the chilled plum, because i like the purple color. but after looking at this board and seeing all the hype about special effects, i figure i'll give it a go.
the last time i dyed it was a while ago, so it's back to my natural brown color.

currant color v

this is shortly after dying it with the color pulse. it shows up nicely, especially in light. v (nice purple part, huh?)

so, basically my question is, do you think that the burgundy wine special effects color will show up on my hair without bleaching it? because the thought of bleaching my hair gives me nightscares.
here's a link to what the burgundy comes out to look like. there's one chick who's picture is on there and she said that she dyed hers over her natural hair color which was a brownish color. you can't really tell from the picture though, it's not a very good one.

i'll cut off a piece of my hair and test it on that, but i just wanted your opinions as well.
i'll post pics after i dye it, too.
& sorry if those pictures are sortof largo.
