1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Two hats! on: January 13, 2010 04:39:05 PM
I seem to crochet in spurts... and it was the end of Christmas break... so I made two hats!

I used the same pattern for both: here

for the bow on the black one, I used the instructions for the bow here  and for the flowers on the white one, I used this one

I messed up a bit on the black one, but I like it anyway! Smiley

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Edging Question... on: July 14, 2007 09:24:15 PM
Hi, I just started crocheting and I have a question about edgings.

When you want to edge something, do you make the edging separately and then join it or can you just keep crocheting from whatever it is your working on? Like if you have a scarf and you want an edging do you have to finish it off?

I'm just asking because there's something I want to try with this edging:
http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa042400.htm but I don't know how to make it join with the original project (which is another clutch...)
. Herm. Did that question make any sense?

Thanks in advance!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / There's always a first time... on: July 12, 2007 10:55:09 PM
Hullo, all! I've always been interested in crocheting (well, ever since my mom taught me how to start a chain... and that was the only thing I could do for years...  Undecided) so... I decided to actually try and make something...

*cough* I'm not the craftiest person ever... but I love using my hands!! Smiley So...

I made a scarf... and a clutch purse thingy that I'll probably use as a calculator case... erm...

The scarf was a bit of an accident, really. I was just practicing half-double crochet (I think) and I ended up running out of red yarn (that was just lying around the house)... and I didn't want to just stop... so it ended up being two-toned in the weirdest way. Not to mention half soft and half not so soft.... But it actually turned out bearably fine... (and strangely enough goes with the new uniform my school just put in place... argh)

The clutch was made with one of the tutorials on the list... Crochet is addicting... and I love seeing all the projects here! Heh. Now I'm inspired and have to go find books on crocheting (since I don't know anybody who can teach me. Sad )

The scarf: (on the table... ignore the strange springish tablecloth...)

The clutch: (and my uber geeky calculator...)
