Where did you get the stamps?   Huh  Or were they just lying around?
74  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dropped Stitch Shawl w/ Twist! on: January 02, 2006 03:11:15 PM
Oh, I made a scarf like that recently!

It does seem really scary when you first start off, but once you get used to it, it's actually really fun, and very simple!

You should make it, the pattern looks great!!   Grin

Oh, I love that pattern!

I might just have to add it to the list of my millions of things... Grin  If you start a knitalong, I'm in, I just need to buy enough yarn.
76  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / My first sweater has gone SO wrong! Help!!!! on: January 02, 2006 02:30:12 PM
Ok, I also posted this in an old Ubernatural thread (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=56812.0), but not sure if anyone will read it so I'm posting it on this board too....Hope thats okay.   Undecided

I have just completley screwed up...Made Glampyres Ubernatural (http://www.magknits.com/chilly04/patterns/uber.htm) in superchunky cashmerino, did the swatch (ok, so mine was slightly smaller, but I ignored that, big mistake I guess...), tried it on as i made it, all good and perfect and beautiful!  I made it in a size medium, have just BO and tried it on, all excited and proud of myself, and it's too small!  It doesn't fit over my hips at all (so the real problems sizewise are from the waist down) and although it fits everywhere else, the stitches are pretty stretched over my bust....  Was thinking I could block that, but I've never done that before, or even made anything other than like, scarves and basic things like arm warmers, etc.

So here I am, about to pull my hair out.  I've already made Cleaves with this bloody yarn which turned out to be a disaster too...
Maybe I should just frog it and start ALL over again!!   Cry

What to do?!?!?!

 Huh
77  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What music do you knit to? on: January 02, 2006 02:24:49 PM
Usually, I like to knit to something mellow with a bit of an edge. Lately, I've been knitting to-

Joni Mitchell
Tori Amos
Sufjan Stevens
Fourplay (an awesome string quartet who play music by the Beastie Boys and Metallica, to name just two)
PJ Harvey
Silverchair

PJ Harvey and Tori Amos...Amazing.

hehe I also listen to The Marine Girls, Marilyn Manson, NIN, Hole, Magneta Lane, Coldplay...Lots more, but these are my favourites for knitting.   Tongue

What about Glampyre's Ubernatural?  Original pattern is here:

And really cool thread with great mods for it:

I just made it, it's so simple to knit and really beautiful and flattering.   Grin  I just finished mine, except, I think I'll have to frog it since my gauge was off and it turned out a size too small.   Cry
