I've just completed Branching Out using Louet Sales Euroflax. This was my first time knitting with linen and it given that it is lace, it needs some sort of blocking. I've read that you don't have to block linen but just run it through the washing machine (which is what the label suggests) but would that work for lace?
Has anyone knit lace with this yarn, and how did you block it?
I don't think I can organize this since I'm finishing up my first swap but maybe someone else would be interested in organizing.
Summer is here and if you're like me you are addicted to flip-flops of all kinds. I am especially fond of fancy flippies. So my thought is we pick up some cheapy flip-flops (from Target, Wally World, Old Navy, local crafts store) in our partner's size and make them spectacular with anything: beads, paint, ribbon, fabric, knitting, crochet.
We had a our first meetup on Saturday 5/20 at Austin Java and it was so much fun! About a dozen knitters showed up and we've decided to meet twice per month, first and third saturdays of the month. If you are interested:
Does anybody know where I can find an easy pattern for a v-neck vest I can wear to work over a collared shirt or something? I'm looking for something with kind of the same look as the Deep-V Argyle Vest but maybe a little simpler and with a 46 inch bust. I just love that look for the office.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't think I'm experienced enough to create my own pattern.
