1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Solid Sock Yarn on: August 08, 2006 01:48:40 PM
Can anyone recommend a good solid-colored sock yarn?

I want to make socks for my husband in the Manchester City colors.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Blocking Euroflax Linen on: June 26, 2006 09:30:44 AM
I've just completed Branching Out using Louet Sales Euroflax. This was my first time knitting with linen and it given that it is lace, it needs some sort of blocking. I've read that you don't have to block linen but just run it through the washing machine (which is what the label suggests) but would that work for lace?

Has anyone knit lace with this yarn, and how did you block it?
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Flip-Flop Swap? on: June 23, 2006 08:25:27 AM
I don't think I can organize this since I'm finishing up my first swap but maybe someone else would be interested in organizing.

Summer is here and if you're like me you are addicted to flip-flops of all kinds.  I am especially fond of fancy flippies. So my thought is we pick up some cheapy flip-flops (from Target, Wally World, Old Navy, local crafts store) in our partner's size and make them spectacular with anything: beads, paint, ribbon, fabric, knitting, crochet.

What do y'all think?
5  Texas / Texas: Central / Austin Knitting Meetup Group on: May 23, 2006 08:59:43 AM
We had a our first meetup on Saturday 5/20 at Austin Java and it was so much fun! About a dozen knitters showed up and we've decided to meet twice per month, first and third saturdays of the month.  If you are interested:

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Simple v-neck sweater vest on: May 03, 2006 10:40:50 AM
Does anybody know where I can find an easy pattern for a v-neck vest I can wear to work over a collared shirt or something?  I'm looking for something with kind of the same look as the Deep-V Argyle Vest but maybe a little simpler and with a 46 inch bust.  I just love that look for the office.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I don't think I'm experienced enough to create my own pattern.
7  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Big Girl Knits Bombshell anyone? on: April 26, 2006 07:53:03 AM
This is my first post but I've been lurking here for quite a long time and have participated in a couple of knit-a-longs in my own lurker fashion.

I was wondering if anyone has gotten Big Girl Knits by Amy Singer & Jillian Moreno?  If so, would anyone be interested in a Bombshell KAL?
