1  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Experimenting with Low water immersion/microwave dyeing with acid dyes on: September 25, 2007 04:51:12 PM
I spent part of the weekend experimenting with a hybrid of Low Water Immersion dyeing and Dharma Trading's instructions for using acid dyes in the microwave.

I dyed three silk bellydance veils (and some other stuff that either didn't turn out as well or was hard to photograph)

This one was red and charcoal gray:

This one is red, blue and gray. Honestly, I think it's hideous, but it was an interesting experiment:

This one is blue and gray, and it's my favorite, in person, the gray bands look like the cut open edge of a geode:
