1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / IRON DAMAGE!!! HELP!!!!! on: July 11, 2006 05:30:48 PM
I don't know if this is even the right section to put this in, but this was the one that seemed the best to share my dilemma to you all.

a few months ago i began sewing and decided to start and make my first bag.
this was also the first time i used interfacing.
not paying attention, i ironed the wrong side of the interfacing and my iron was ruined with tiny little dots and bumps all over the metal side of my iron.

has this happened to any of you?
should i just throw away my iron or can it be fixed in any way?

i would love to have advice, i love this dear iron.

it's also kept me off of sewing for a bit.

okay thanks.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / X-large Tee to Halter on: May 31, 2006 05:56:01 PM
Before, I had a L shirt with a huge logo saying MERCY HIGH SCHOOL SAN FRANCISCO. Now that I've officially graduated, and the shirt looked like it was engulfing me whenever it was worn... I decided to change it into a smaller halter.

Taking in the sides, and guessing how to cut the shirt to make it look similar to one I saw previously, I came out with this:

I know, I look like a MAJOR doofus on here, but my excuse is that I am sick  Sad haha. so please ignore that part of the picture!!!

thanks for looking.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / HELP! I crochet circles!? on: March 05, 2006 07:45:05 PM
so, i have this problem where everytime i attempt to crochet something, i end up crocheting for a long time and magically make a circle. all i want to do is make a simple scarf! does anyone know what i am doing wrong, or a website i could go to for help? everytime i look up crocheting rules or tips or anything, i end up really confused.

i don't want to make circles.
a nice long scarf would do the trick.

thank you!

and first of all i was wondering if i should completely pleat the bottom area or leave it that way

and second of all i was wondering if i should anything to it because it looks so plain...

suggestions would really be appreciated, and thanks for looking !!!  Smiley
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Earrings&Bracelet (from broken jewelry) on: January 22, 2006 05:49:13 PM
Any time I break jewelry, I tend to keep the pieces, so I decided to make a charm bracelet & mismatched earrings, also with random beads & buttons as well. It's my first post & I have no idea what you'll think about them...!!

All I did was use wire to connect everything together! Smiley
