well three out of the four things i have pics of are reconstructed, so here goes.
i did this today, basically because i don't feel like doing laundry so i'm making clothes instead.. the jack sparrow part used to be on a teeny-tiny shirt that didn't fit me worth crap, and the tube top is from a massive giganto black tshirt. i used zigzag stiching to go around the patch, as well as for the hem and the top part. i like how it looks messy and pirate-esque
this is a dress i made from... let's see.. a tuxedo-printed t-shirt from goodwill, a polkadot shirt also from goodwill, some leftover red tulle from another project, black satiny type remnants, and black & white tshirt scraps. phew. it has a corset back and uhh yes i suppose that's it.
errrrm this is the non-reconstructed item. ::blush:: it's made from black chiffon, some black lace and pink buttons. puff sleeves etc etc. the hem is screwy. late at night + impatient me = screwy hem. oh well.
aaaaand last up is my trusty balloon hoodie. this thing has been through a lot of wear since i made it. it's pretty much the perfect spring-is-sort-of-here sweater. a little shorter than half sleeves with elastic around the ends, button closure thingy, and a bunch of buttons. i pretty much love this thing. and the best part is it used to be this gigantic, man-esque hoodie stolen from my brother
well this is partially reconstructed but partially not. i bought this care bears print flannel and made it into a hoodie, then realized it was a little too pattern-y and not really stretchy at all which irritated me a lot.. so i tore it apart and sewed the sides and back on the inside of a black t-shirt, along with the hood, bottom band, pocket etc. so basically it is now a hooded/pocketed zip-up black shirt lined with flannel care bears.
uhh i made this about 349032840932850 weeks ago and it doesn't really look like this anymore.. i kinda wore it to a show where the lead singer pretty much spit gallons of fake blood into the front of mosh pit.. errr... all over us? so it's rather bloody looking now. but hey, bleeding care bears, i figure that's pretty nasty as well, aye? (the positive nasty.. eh, teen lingo, whatever.)
bla.. all of these things are for sale on ebay at the moment.. two are reconstructed but i don't feel like making another post so ptthtt. please excuse the hugeness of my pics.. sighhh..
mm.. first we have this metallica dress. made from a giant metallica t-shirt belonging to my ex. (there's really nothing like the vengeance of destructing and crafting your ex boyfriend's clothing for a profit).
aaand the emo kid poseeeeeee.
next we have the lovely purple polka dot bubble hem tube dress. it reminds me of chuck e cheese.. i don't know why. three cheers for childhood nostalgia in clothing? close up of details: and top:
and my lovely polka-dot and skull and greenishness and lace yoke top. (this is how i learned to hate rayon! yayyyy.) close up of skull: (his name is hubert)
and last.. hagar the horrible circle skirt. nothing special.. difficult to read as the strips do not in fact go horizontally. but oh well. and close up of fabric: (kinda wrinkly, deal with it..)
aaanyway. my brother is selling him on ebay. his account is mainly for warhammer though.. so you've basically got "citadel miniatures" and then "bubble hem, yay!" haha.
soo i made this the other night instead of sleeping. i didn't use a pattern or anything, just sort of.. did it. my spiderman tank (posted on here someplace) was practice for the top, except it had ribbons instead of a zipper. the bottom is pleated and there's a really long (not too visible in the pics) bow sash in back. i bought light green tulle and even pinned it on, then decided i wasn't feeling quite as poufy as i had anticipated. i'll probably sew the tulle in when summer rolls around and i have real opportunities to wear it. so far i've only gone out in public in it once, to school (and let me tell you, i was ambushed. the school nurse called me "color city" or something and started a conversation about sewing your own clothes and being an individual, etc etc. i was like, that's fantastic, but i'm bleeding here..) aaanyway. the mirror shot. the backside mirror shot (harder than you'd think, my friends.) please ignore my plumpness.. sash.. sort of.. look at me, i'm sitting like a porn star. whee.
so, yes, my childhood fixation with unicorns has finally been translated into crafty craftness. and kitschy girlness. but hey, that's what i'm here for.
so yes i bought this nifty spiderman fabric from the scrap-type things at joann's. and this nifty ribbon from the sale bin at michael's.
front: side: back: do not be fooled, my friends. this cool ribbony back thing was no stroke of genius on my part. rather, i squeezed into the shirt (made entirely of VERY unstretchy material) and then realized i could not squeeze back out. it began to constrict my breathing so i cut a slit up the back and this idea was born. so yes. thoughts?
yes, i stole this idea from someone who did it with a pig. thank you, whoever you are. it's made out of scrap fleece from joann's and an old purplish t-shirt. (and a sock, for the eyes. but that hardly counts.) i'll probably sell this. it's not exactly my style. unless i've had a lot of coffeeeeee... like more than my reccomended daily dosage. yessiree bob.
so i made three bags in the past couple days. this one's for school books, it's a basic tote made from a tie-dye blanket/sheet thing from goodwill and an old sweater (lining, the skull & tulip thingys.) .. and on.
this one's a basic duct tape bag with some caution tape i had my brother steal from me (it was at the library and i've got a fragile conscience.. yes.) it's pretty messy. i could have done better but i was feeling coffee-deprived at the time of construction. and open.
this was inspired by a cuff, i think, someone on here made. anyway. it's not my idea, so don't give me credit. &me in all my infinite coolness.
umm lil hair pin things from ribbon, hot glue and pin-ish things from dollar store. nothing special i know. and this one is made from an old shoelace and sculpey clay. o how i love sculpey.. ::swoons:: thanks for looking.
so i went on a massive crafting spree due to a certain disruption in the swing of things >.> ah well. productivity can be positive methinks. firstly there are my awesome decoupage boots, partially constructed as well by my dear friend greenerwiththescenery07. (jen. that's right. REAL LIFE PEOPLE!) and um , shirts. this was made from an ill-fitting goodwill skirt and has very little practical use as it is extremely slutty in the back. (no picture, i don't particularly want to post my bra on the internet.) and this was made from a black and lime-green polka dot vest from goodwill and a really old, strange shirt that said something about volleyball on it. not being of a sporty nature, i decided to tear off the sleeves, bottom and hood & attach them to aforementioned vest. i also had to enlarge the sleeve holes on the vest since they were veeery smallish. and the iron-on transfers are album covers and lyrics from neon blonde (dead mellotron, specifically). i would have put this in iron-on transfers, but there was more reconstructing than ironing. so. yes.
BR
