I mostly make bags. I'm using a sewing machine. My last bag seems to be too streachy for the fifteen-twenty pounds I have to carry around.

I'm  somewhat new to sewing. I always go to the fabric store and pick out the wrong stuff. Everything I get is super streachy.

Does anyone have a fabric type that isn't really streachy? I'm fabric types illiterate

I've been working on this for a week, well only like 4 days total. It was my first, non-purse bag. I think it turned out okay. I've never done a bag all by myself, so this is something new. The outside fabric is denim, but it is streachy  The inside is a pink cotton with white snowflakes on it ( $1.00/yd at Wally World).

The topstiching isn't as crooked as it looks. I'm not sure what i'm going to put on the flap yet though. It's kind of plain. Anyone have ideas?

Here is the inside. The front of the bag is toward the top of the picture.

I'm still waiting on the buckle slide (triglide buckle)in order to finish this. If I have something in it, the strap streaches down to where the bottom of the bag is at my ankles. It's insane
