Secondly, I opened Squidget's box!

Once again, everything in one picture:

She found wonderful fabrics for me that I love! And made an awesome appliqued sewing machine tote bag and a great little needle book.

For my smalls she sent me buttons (in an adorable tin), zippers, quilting thread and lots of squares for my postage stamp quilt and a pattern and plastic to make wallets.

I had two awesome swap partners for this swap and couldn't have asked for more! I think I will be able to get a good chunk of my postage stamp quilt done from the fabrics I have recieved!

I hope you two like what I made as much as I love yours!

What a wonderful Valentine's surprise! I recieved both of my packages today! I am going to put them in separate posts to give them their glory!

I started by opening Castaways package because it was on top. I don't know how she fit all of this in one shoebox.

Here is an attempt at getting everything in one picture:

She made me an adorable tool belt, if tool belts could ever be adorable! She made this because she is SO thoughtful and stalked me good. In a month or so I am going to be moving to Kentucky to volunteer w/ Christian Appalachian Project and there is a good chance that some of that volunteer work will be repairing and building houses. I love this fabric and she also made me a matching tote/lunch box and 2 button pouches, as well as an adorable turtle and cupcake, a coffee cozy! two heart pins and a metal and beaded pin!

She also sent me great notions and this quilt binding book looks great, because I don't really know the right way to do that. I've just winged it in the past.

Thank you so much Novena! and great job on your first swap. You are an awesomely generous and thoughful swap partner! I am so excited about all the scraps you sent me!

34  How to tie this knot?! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by littlehajerika on: February 12, 2008 11:08:59 AM
I adore the apron pockets from this tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=38097.msg332607

I wanted to add them to an apron I made but I can not for the life of me figure out how to tie the pocket knots that look like this:

If anyone knows how to do this and can tell me how, or if you even know what this kind of knot is called so I can look it up online, please let me know!

38  Re: Silly Santa White Elephant Swap in The Swap Gallery by littlehajerika on: December 15, 2007 06:08:53 PM
Here is my submission:

It is a patchwork totebag. The predominant colors are reds, also some green, yellow and black in the patterns. The front is quilted patchwork and the back is red with a small flower pattern. It measures approx. 11.5" x 13.5". There are two pockets on the inside.

Hope someone likes it!

I've made a couple of these as gifts and got a good response, Hopefully someone will like it!

I've been very impressed so far with everyone's submissions and it seems to be a pretty good mix of things. Can't wait to start fighting it out!

39  sort of... The Little Mermaid in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by littlehajerika on: September 23, 2007 10:51:40 AM
I made my first stuffed animal this week for my little cousin Lilly's 1st birthday. She loved it and it fit perfectly in her little hand!

I got the basic pattern from here: http://mermaid.nunodoll.com/mini/mascot.html but then enlarged it, changed the tail and made her hair out of felt instead of ribbon. Sorry the pics are taken in my car but I am actually that much of a procrastinator, but I still love the way she turned out.

Detail of her face:

Detail of her hair:

I didn't get a picture of her with it, but here she is!

40  Re: NEWBIES ONLY SWAP ROUND 6 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by littlehajerika on: September 21, 2007 03:12:01 PM
My box arrived today! And I would have posted earlier but I had to take my dad to get a procedure done on his neck. So here they are!
Thanks so much Steph!

Everything laid out with the wonderful socks in the center!!!!! They were my dream swap item, I love toasty socks! I hate hot sweaters but I love toasty socks! And she filled the box with tons of scrap fabric, which I can never have enough of, especially the pretty textile/upholstery decorator fabrics that she put in.

Action shot! I can't wait to sleep in these.

Bag #1: Super cute crocheted shopping bag! Now I can avoid all the plastic, this is definitly going to the flea market with me tomorrow morning.

Bag #2: Different pattern for a drawstring bag. Both of these bags are made from really soft cotton yarn. Love them!

and finally, what a great idea! Our minds were obviously working the same on this swap. This is an adorable pin cusion that goes around my sewing machine. And the coolest part is that the flower and leaves part comes off and fits around my wrist.

Thanks so much Steph, you were such a wonderful swap partner!
