3  sugar skull ornaments in Winter Holidays by beautifulloser on: December 20, 2007 04:20:53 PM
I tied these sugar skulls onto everyone's package last year. I like Day of the Dead crafts anytime of year.

They've faded since last year, other than that they've held up well.

4  Western Christmas Stocking and Cookie Plate in Winter Holidays by beautifulloser on: December 20, 2007 03:30:36 PM
I made these for my oldest son on his 1st Christmas, about 9 years ago. The stocking is felt and the plate is ceramic. I'm working on making my other son, 1yr old, a rudolph themed stocking... hopefully I'll finish soon.

5  Skeleton Day of the Dead Christmas Stocking in Winter Holidays by beautifulloser on: December 20, 2007 03:15:46 PM
This is the stocking I made for my husband when we were first married. He is from Mexico, and we both enjoy the mexican culture and crafts, especially Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), so I decided to do his stocking themed arround those things.
I never got arround to finishing the edges off, some day, maybe next year. I made my son a western themed stocking and I in the middle of making a Rudolph themed one for my youngest son.

Bad lighting in this one.

A close up... he and I in our skeleton forms decorating out skeleton tree.

We Received our Sam home yesterday, he went to visit ILOVEGUMMYWORM's family in Ioawa. He  had a wonderful time living on a farm, and loved the 5th birthday party they threw for him.
My son posing with Sam, their new bandanas and Sam's cute overalls.
Everything together- Bandana, Sam's overalls, strawberry full of candy corn, post cards, two little activity bags for Sam and my son (one with mini coloring book and crayons, and one with beads), and his fabulous book.

Inside the amazing book she made for me. It was so creative!

Thank you, we love everything! My son's been taking Sam everywhere with him now.

My visitor arrived back to his home last Friday, so I will post some photos of what I sent. ILOVEGUMMYWORMS- feel free to post if you took photos, too! We loved having Forklift, we miss him already!

Forklift visited us in Orange County, California, he traveled all the way from Iowa.
I sewed him swimming trunks for the beach, and made him a hemp necklace, gave hime a cowboy hat for the hot sun. These are some shell he collected at the beach in Del Mar.

A sample of the inside of Forklift's travel journal. We took over 100 photo's (my son liked helping with this), so any photos that did not fit his journal, I burnt on a disc.

Forklift picked out some treats for the girls at the Disney store- some glittery princesses, princess themed diaries, and rainbow heart bracelets;  and filled a folder with a variety of souveneers he collected on his travels.

Thanks Forklift, you were a great friend to have with us!

ofenjen- I'm glad you have some better photos of the shirt, it came out really good.

Here's a close up of the wallet and scetch book I made-

I laminated the cards with packing tape, so you can see both sides when you open the book.

This one you can see some of the map.

zenochka, I forgot to write that the badges are for them to color themselves.

We took Forklift to one more trip to the ocean, in Hunington Beach, before his vacation is over. He loves building sand castles! He will be so missed when he goes home!
