1  Re: Deuces Wild Flower Pin Swap Numero Dos Pics in The Swap Gallery by seapj on: January 01, 2005 03:06:17 PM
A pic of my lovely pin from xmelinda....

Thank you so much - it's really a beauty!!

(Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of sarahdotcom's flower pin before I sent it....I'm glad it finally arrived!  The Post Man didn't explain the many types of international shipping...he just said "this is the best for such a light package," stuck the stamp on, and off it went!)

I'm so thrilled that you like what I sent, Paige! Smiley

The purse was my first lined bag, so I'm thrilled that you like it!  It isn't the craft that my sewing machine ate...that was another item that's on it's way in your second package.

The tins were really fun to make.  When I got your zine, I just knew I had to find some way to use the beautiful and personal words inside - I'm just thrilled that you liked them so much!!

I'll be finishing up your second box this weekend, so there's more crafty goodness to come!

I am officially flabbergasted by the crafty skill of xmelinda!  Shocked   Grin

A relatively small little box arrived in the mail yesterday, but unfortunately I was dashing out the door, so it had to wait until I got home last night.  I started opening it, and it was like the clown car at the circus - so much stuff was in there!

The first thing I saw was a beautiful hand knit (or is it crochet...I'm a yarn-craft beginner) skinny scarf in the blue-green boucle yarn I sent with delicate purple beading as fringe, and a perfectly coordinating hat with purple stripes and a gorgeous flower attached.  I was so in love that I was wearing it until I went to bed - it was absolutely perfect!!

Then I saw a batch of exquisite handmade cards for Halloween that made a novel use of the ribbon I sent - as framing detail on the cards - so cute!

At this point, I was going on and on to my hubby about how this was the best swap ever, and how I loved everything.  Then as I was going to recycle the box, a handful of little tissue-wrapped things fell out.  MORE goodies - it was unbelievable.

2 pairs of earings...one with the felt I sent and embroidery thread and bead details, and the other a long dangly beaded pair.  There was also a gorgeous silver necklace with beading to perfectly match the earrings.  Finally, an unbelievable felt pin that incorporates what I think is a Shrinky Dink masterpiece.

As you can see, I was blessed by the swap gods with a most amazing match-up!  Thanks, xmelinda - you truly outdid yourself!!

The cards are on their way to all of you. Thanks for doing such an amazing job!  It was a difficult job to figure out how to divide them up (especially with 2 sisters swapping) - it meant being really organized to make sure no one got back a card they had crafted!

I almost forgot the post the last pics, so here they are...

Kendalj and alleycat.rm's lovely cards have also now arrived - yeah!  We're getting there...still waiting on cards from BagLady, Idigmusic, spaz-muse and germ@n chocol@te, but all have indicated that their cards are in the mail.  Hopefully I will be able to send out the packages to each of you by next Thursday.

Since this hasn't been started yet, and my wonderful swapper has just sent me a most magnificent package, I thought I'd start the Super Hot Sock Swap Gallery....

Many, many thanks to Heather (not sure of your craftster id) - now my always-cold feet will be super toasty!

Items:  cherry red and clear nail polish, pumice stone, pink asian embroidered slippers, yummy foot scrub, and the softest socks I've ever touched!

A pic...

Another set has arrived, courtesy of IqJones who was VERY busy crafting 12 cards!!  They are stitched and either watercolor or marker, and have matching envelopes complete with double-stick tape (great idea!).

Here is a pic of the lot with their envelopes...

A detail shot of each style...

Another batch of amazingly beautiful cards has arrived, this time from abbeychristine.  She kindly sent me an extra card to keep (and some postage) - thanks! Smiley

A close up of some of the hand-painted detail!

Now that I have heroinechic's cards and this batch from abbeychristine, I'm really excited to see the rest, and send the packages back out to each of you.
