11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Opinions please! Save the Date Postcard on: June 24, 2008 01:42:07 PM
The problem with different shots is that we had these done with the photographer. I guess we could get a friend to reshoot them... Hmm..

Here is my take two to make it more interesting!

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Opinions please! Save the Date Postcard on: June 24, 2008 11:37:15 AM
Hey y'all...

I'm supposed to be paying attention in my teacher professional development, but instead I'm playing with our save the date cards...

We're doing simple postcards. Vistaprint.com prints them for free - you just pay the shipping and handling! Woo!

This is the front. The back will have a little message, the location, the website, etc...

Is this too simple? (The black blurbs are our last names!)

Wow - you are quick! I've got a small and a couple of filler goodies. We've been unexpectedly out of town for a family medical emergency but I'm back now and have lots of free days of crafting goodness!

Here is the first package from my wonderful new friend Jenny, aka Devotedplanet!

Everything together, minus the Werther's hard candies, which were snatched by my fiance.

- Sheep Bag! - which is going with me to San Antonio tomorrow for the big KIPP Summit
- gorgeous woven scarf from Dublin
- LOVELY amazing scarf knitted by Jenny
- Blackberry soap - totally going in my luggage to make my clothes smell pretty
- Huckleberry Biscuit mix - yummy, can't wait to make it!
- a hank of gorgeous yarn
- a book about Irish women! Woohoo!
- and a cute kitty cat looking out a window Christmas ornament!

And a close up of the two scarves!

Thank you so much! this is one of the best swap packages ever!

Hey ladies,

So my fiance and I live in Houston but we're planning a wedding back in his hometown of Kilgore in March of 2009. I've been searching high and freaking low on the internet for venues in the Kilgore/Tyler/Longview/Henderson area (or something similar) and am having little luck. Everything is very run of the mill country club which is not our style.

My dreams: outdoor (garden or gazebo or lots of trees or a pond/lake/body of water), fun, relaxed, etc...

Any ideas? Any leads? Anything pretty in the area that I can at least investigate further?

Thank you!!!!
