1  Texas / Texas: Northeast / Looking for crafty friends in Kilgore area on: April 27, 2009 01:58:58 PM
Hey ladies,

I'm embarking on the big move from Houston to Kilgore in June. I know NO one in the area! Are there any craft groups in the area that y'all know of?

Quality is good, shipping is quick, and they're super-super cheap! Smiley

You can upload your own image - which is what I did - for $4.95 and then pay shipping. I got 100 postcards (way more than I need) for $11.47 total.

Yay, glad you liked everything.

My fiance is jealous of the slippers and now I have to knit him some too!

I received from the super quick caffeinatedair! Here are my goodies!

Everything together:

Close up of the dangly earrings and stick markers (which could be worn as earrings, hehe)! I wore the purple ones all day and they're super comfy!

The lovely recipe box that she stained and oiled herself! I know its weird, but I LOVE the smell of wood stain. It reminds me of my grandfather.

Long snuggly scarf and some yarn! Woohoo, more for my stash! The scarf is just right for the 2 weeks of kinda cold weather we get in Houston.

And I couldn't resist an action shot. After discovering it was hard to get one of myself in the scarf, I decided to use my Bassett Hound, Daisy. However, she is far too lazy to be bothered with standing up. Every time I tried to prop her up, she slumped back over, so this is as good as you get from her. Smiley I also tried the pug as a model, but she refused to sit still long enough!

I can't find the swap gallery! Anybody got the link?

Ooh! Thanks! Smiley

I need help coming up with some good ideas for what to do OTHER than dance.

The boy and I will be getting married in March here in Texas. It will be an outdoor wedding on the grounds of a historic plantation. We'll have the whole grounds for the reception as well.

Not very many people in our families dance. It'll be me, my bridesmaids, and a couple of work friends, pretty much. So I need other things to do.

So far, here is what I've come up with:
1.) horseshoes, maybe croquet, wiffle ball
2.) a DIY photo booth (my digital camera on a tripod with a remote and a box of goofy hats and props)
3.) Dominoes (my fiance and his family are big into dominoes)
4.) temporary tattoos - maybe a face painter, I haven't decided yet.
5.) coloring books, crayons, little toy goodie bags for the little kids
6.) a pinata

I'd like some sort of other crafty thing... Any ideas? Things you've done at your wedding or seen at other weddings?

Yeah. I like the 2nd one better too. My fiance put his $0.02 and said I should change it to the wedding colors rather than colors to match our outfits... So here is the final product. 100 postcards only cost me $11.48 - and that's WITH shipping!

Thanks for your help!!
