1  Re: Girly Girl Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mserocks on: June 27, 2008 03:07:54 PM
I received from the super quick caffeinatedair! Here are my goodies!

Everything together:

Close up of the dangly earrings and stick markers (which could be worn as earrings, hehe)! I wore the purple ones all day and they're super comfy!

The lovely recipe box that she stained and oiled herself! I know its weird, but I LOVE the smell of wood stain. It reminds me of my grandfather.

Long snuggly scarf and some yarn! Woohoo, more for my stash! The scarf is just right for the 2 weeks of kinda cold weather we get in Houston.

And I couldn't resist an action shot. After discovering it was hard to get one of myself in the scarf, I decided to use my Bassett Hound, Daisy. However, she is far too lazy to be bothered with standing up. Every time I tried to prop her up, she slumped back over, so this is as good as you get from her. Smiley I also tried the pug as a model, but she refused to sit still long enough!

2  Re: Opinions please! Save the Date Postcard in Weddings and Bridal Showers by mserocks on: June 24, 2008 07:04:44 PM
Yeah. I like the 2nd one better too. My fiance put his $0.02 and said I should change it to the wedding colors rather than colors to match our outfits... So here is the final product. 100 postcards only cost me $11.48 - and that's WITH shipping!

Thanks for your help!!

The problem with different shots is that we had these done with the photographer. I guess we could get a friend to reshoot them... Hmm..

Here is my take two to make it more interesting!

4  Opinions please! Save the Date Postcard in Weddings and Bridal Showers by mserocks on: June 24, 2008 11:37:15 AM
Hey y'all...

I'm supposed to be paying attention in my teacher professional development, but instead I'm playing with our save the date cards...

We're doing simple postcards. Vistaprint.com prints them for free - you just pay the shipping and handling! Woo!

This is the front. The back will have a little message, the location, the website, etc...

Is this too simple? (The black blurbs are our last names!)

8  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Round 3 in The Swap Gallery by mserocks on: February 05, 2007 08:04:58 PM
I received from SoonFamo-Artiste! Look at this MONSTER of a yarn ball.

And here's the guts!

Left to right:
Purple Head Band
Silver Quarter shaped buttons
a corset shaped cell phone charm
a hot pink teacher tote bag
a navy blue check book cover, painted with an apple
2 spools of ribbon
clay!
pompom kit to make kitties
4 balls of yarn! theyre actually cadet blue, 2 light purple, and one darker purple
and blue buttons

I really, really apologize for the crappy pics. I'm in the middle of a very unexpected move. (My boyfriend of two years announced last week that he never wants to get married and wants me to move out...) so... yeah, I'm sorry- SoonFamo-Artiste, thank you so much!!!! My pics don't do your effort justice at all!

9  Re: New Knitty's Calorimetry in Knitalongs by mserocks on: December 11, 2006 06:06:07 PM
Mine too! Used 8s. Cast on 80. Not sure how many rows I ended up with, probably 30? Made from a thick handspun superwash merino by TheBon that I got from the handspun/handcraft swap.

Way too warm for Houston though. Being gifted to my friend Jen who is off to Maine to visit her familia, which will be perfect weather for it!

Okay, Dewey FINALLY got her stuff after a mishap with the post office. She's working late, so I'm posting for her!

Here's everything all together -

The slipcovered 3 ring binder - satiny material that once upon a time was curtains from Target that I adore, but the boyfriend hates so they came down when we moved in together.

Handpainted papier mache boxes and felt and ribbon covered composition book

Cute buttons made into bulletin board pins with a flat tack and some hot glue!

An ugly little dammit doll, to whack and throw when mad at the world.

And some Hello Kitty pencils and candy and things thrown in for fun!

I'm so glad everything arrived finally!
