1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: guy's argyle sweater vest pattern? on: October 23, 2006 10:37:48 AM
I imagine you've found a pattern by now (it's only been almost a year since this topic was last posted in!) but I JUST found a man's argyle sweater vest pattern in a collection of men's knits patterns.  The book is Men in Knits by Tara Jon Manning.  You can find it here: http://www.amazon.com/Men-Knits-Sweaters-Knit-That/dp/1931499233/sr=8-2/qid=1161624993/ref=sr_1_2/102-2258163-8322531?ie=UTF8&s=books
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Tiny Food! on: October 14, 2006 12:21:07 PM
Those are fantastic!  How did you create the icing for the donut?  The shiny and smooth consistency is so real - how did you do that with clay?!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Masquerade [5 pics] on: October 09, 2006 12:26:29 PM
Gorgeous!  Though they're all beautiful, I adore the last one.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: yarn scraps pillow- now with pattern! on: October 07, 2006 11:53:43 AM
I'm SO glad I found this post again!  I loved this project so much the first time I saw it that I remembered it a year later!  *must go make pillow*
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: I finally got off me bum and made this!! on: October 03, 2006 03:25:04 PM
Beautiful!  It's very fun - and I ADORE the necklace - I love the way you grouped the pearls together in a rectangle - it's so visually refreshing.
6  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: University Study about Forums Like Craftster on: September 29, 2006 10:41:17 AM
Just like one of the MANY psych questionnaires I've completed at McGill for a bit of extra cash... they all use the same questions to tap into your psyche!  Takes about 10 minutes or so - not bad at all.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / Re: Chokecherry Silkscreened Cards and an introduction on: September 02, 2006 04:43:37 PM
I think the design would look even better blown up and screened onto a t-shirt!  The details of the print would be clearer.  I think a navy print would be lovely on a white cotton shirt.  Please post pics!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: appliqued bird blazer on: August 19, 2006 12:53:26 PM
Fantastic!  I love the variety of fabric scraps and felt that you used - it's so interesting to look at.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: capiz shell boggler on: August 19, 2006 10:29:33 AM
I'm encountering a similar situation - I'm vacationing on Long Island right now and have accumulated a HUGE amount of gorgeous shells and stones that I want to make into jewelery.  Apparently it's not the type of drill bit that will crack it, but the heat from the drilling.  If you hold the shell in a good vice and keep it wet as you drill, you shouldn't have any problems with cracking.  A dremmel would probably work welll.
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Long Distance Relationship swap? on: August 13, 2006 12:24:28 PM
Well, I'm in!  I need to finish my degree as well, and could use some consoling on those lonely nights... I was thinking of getting a cat, but my landlady would probably prefer if I could make do with a Craftster swap.
