1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / two dresses, two skirts, and of course a possum dress. on: July 07, 2006 07:53:56 PM
i am learning out to sew, so these are probably terribly unimpressive but i'm very excited about them.
alright then.
first skirt:

unfortunately this is one of my least awkward of pictures for this skirt. i like the skirt a lot but my neighbor told me, "that fabric is fit for a five year old, it's perfect for you." so now i'm a bit self-conscious about wearing it.
second skirt:

i don't really like this one but the actual sewing job was a lot better than the first. cool face.

the dresses:

bra straps are always classy. i realized that the pink and brown one is similar to one that was posted just a few days ago by ohmystars and i like hers a lot better. anyway, i'm thinking about ruching the sides because i made the torso a bit too long and it bunches around my waist.

and my favorite, the dress that my roommate made for my stuffed possum. haha. she was trying to make a sample dress and decided it was possum-sized:

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / the factory - andy warhol housewarming party on: February 22, 2006 08:05:55 PM
hey!
my friend and i are relocating this weekend, and since we are going to do our living room in andy warhol stuff - but better this time hah - we decided to have a factory housewarming party. my roommate won't let me cover any of the walls in tin foil, but i told her i'm at least doing the door since the warhol's factory was silver and grey. the decorations will pretty much be done, and the attire will be easy enough, but do you have any ideas as to activities? yikes, that sounded like i was planning a party for a five year old. but what i mean is, we don't drink so we can't base it around alcohol like the majority of our colleagues. i was thinking those root beer bottles to look like beer bottles since that scene was heavily into drugs and alcohol. but as far as anything else i am stuck. we usually end up busting out a game of taboo, but i think our other friends are probably getting tired of it.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / andrew warhola living room (several pictures) on: January 09, 2006 10:56:57 PM
i live in a sort of sketchy neighborhood, so my apartment is not incredibly fancy, but here is what my roomate and i just finished to try to make it better:

unfortunately, the recliner doesn't match very well, so it kind of throws it off... but whatever.

that futon is the best.

calander pictures and painted cardboard make the best ghetto fabulous decorations.

my andy warhol painting and my roommates self portraits and warhol inspired couches.

it's nothing fancy, but it's so much better than our ripped up goodwill couch and lack of lighting. haha.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / curtains from sheets on: December 25, 2005 08:34:59 PM
here's the dl: i moved out this summer to go to school, so my mom has been re-doing my room... she was having a nervy spaz because she couldn't find any curtains that she liked or that matched the color of the new bed spread, so while i was here we decided to make them ourselves. well, mostly her, as i am not very sewing machine savvy. she bought a plain white sheet and a curtain pattern. we used acryllic paints and lids as stamps. you can imagine how classy the stamps were. anyway, they aren't nearly as crafty as most of the other stuff on here, but they look pretty good. there are really two, but i like it with just one up:

the squares are actually teal and brown, but you can't see it very well on here.
