Love this! I like your version a bit better; the original is a bit too shiny for my taste.

Thanks everyone!

paranoir: Cardboard is made for making boxes, not clothing! Haha! It was a fun challenge.

AnoxiaSan: It took about 3 and a half weeks.

eelkje: I get it!

Ludi: There were a few rips (the sleeves were made of paper, as was most of the skirt), but nothing major.

Helloooo! I haven't posted here in a while. School has been keeping me busy for sure. My first semester of college is almost over!

But anyway....

For one of my classes our assignment was to make a "cardboard persona" and wear the outfit of our persona out in public. My chosen persona was an 80s business woman. This suit and accessories took around 3.5 weeks to make, but I'm happy with how it turned out!

On to the pictures.

Check out all of the pictures on my flickr --> http://www.flickr.com/photos/shanice/

Thanks!

Both things are really cute, but I really like the bathing suit! It looks really professional.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Making a back zip into a side zip? on: August 09, 2008 08:31:06 PM
I'm making the one without the lace overlay.

Thank you so much!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Making a back zip into a side zip? on: August 09, 2008 08:16:36 PM
I was hoping someone here would know how to take a pattern that is made to have a zipper up the back and modify it so that the zipper on put in on the side. I am making a dress in which the bodice is made up of a few panels that are sewn together with the back two panels left open so you can install a zipper there. Here is a picture of the pattern so you can get a better idea.

Should I just sew the back seam up and leave a side seam open? This was my original plan, because I figured the extra seam allowance put on the back would transfer to the side panels.

Help please! haha

Thanks.
