1  Retro whirl away dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frolickingmango on: April 12, 2006 02:53:36 PM
I made this dress with my grandmother yesterday. The fabric is a sheet I found at Goodwill and I got the pattern at the dump. The pattern doesn't have a date, but I'm pretty sure that it's from the 60s. The dress was pretty easy to make, and I love how it turned out!

As you can tell from the illustrations, the dress ties behind the back, and then it wraps around the front. It resembles a hospital gown, since it's backless until you wrap the front up. It's pretty risque to wear in breezy weather, as the front kind of flaps open, exposing some areas that are meant to be under cover.

I'm off to go whirl away!
