11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Shrinky Flower Card on: January 07, 2006 09:32:39 PM
I got a package of the plastic/paper you use to make shrinky dinks and decided to play around with it a little bit this evening. I was disappointed to find out that even after baking the marker ink rubbed off quite easily. I need to figure out how to fix that. Even though I had some problems, I ended using one of the flowers I shrunk on a card.

Anyone with tips on using the shrinking stuff, please help!
12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Gift for Gamers on: January 05, 2006 11:39:51 AM
My husband loves computer and video games and he is notoriously difficult to buy gifts for because he buys everything he wants for himself. So, the trick is to figure out what he doesn't know he wants. Smiley

For his birthday this year I figured out a way to get him something he would want and cover up the bland white walls in our computer room. I framed a bunch of the commemorative maps that accompanied the collector's editions of some of the games he owns.

He loved them and now our computer room looks much better. I hope that this helps those of you shopping/crafting for gamers out there.
13  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Pinecone Source on: December 22, 2005 05:59:34 PM
I wanted to make a wreath out of pinecones this year, but I wasn't able to find a reliable supplier of pinecones. All of the local craft stores only had scented ones, and while they were nice, I think it would be overpowering to have an entire wreath made out of them. I tried two different online stores, and both flaked out on me and gave me a refund after they couldn't fulfill the orders. Does anyone have any suggestions?
14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Stamped Cross Stitch Patterns on: December 22, 2005 05:26:47 PM
I never learned counted cross stitch, but all of the stamped cross stich patterns seem fairly frumpy to me. Does anyone know a good supplier of nice stamped cross stitch patterns?
15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Homemade Gift Basket on: December 21, 2005 07:17:55 PM
I made a Christmas gift basket for my husband's grandparents including embossed candles, a jingle bell wreath, two sets of Christmas cards, two types of Christmas cookies and hand painted ornaments. I tried making a few other crafts such as a wreath made our of ornaments and peppermint soap that didn't turn out so well. Anyway, I thought I'd share pictures of the finished product so you can comment and maybe give ideas for next year.

The final crafts and baked goods that went into the basket.

All assembled!
