24  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: boring Ikea funitures turned into something nice on: November 05, 2004 11:48:49 AM
we bought a futon couch at ikea that left a little to be desired in terms of color. i re-covered the white slipcovers with this crazy antique upholstery material. it's got a lot more character now!
25  UNITED STATES / Montana / Re: does this mean i'm the only one? on: November 05, 2004 11:12:24 AM

your work is fun and i love the ease of navigation on your site--super clean and beautiful monochrome colors. i love it. well done!
27  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: xmas gifts for a huge family on: October 22, 2004 01:48:46 PM
have you thought of subscribing to 'the sampler'? when you subscribe you get a bunch of 'samples' from indie diy shops, and it's cheap ($10/month). there is some pretty nice stuff, and i should be getting one soon--i plan on using a few items as gifts myself! you can check out info here: www.homeofthesampler.com
but i'm also going to be baking some gifts too! it's always nice to give cookies or other baked goods.
28  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: LOVE Altered book on: October 22, 2004 12:53:52 PM
that is really impressive. i love the look of the burned the edges of the pages. it gives it an almost "found" and mysterious quality. very nice indeed.
29  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Re: Does this seem like a rip-off? on: October 22, 2004 09:24:32 AM
i think it's a ripoff if it doesn't get a lot of publicity. but most likely that 15% charge is going toward the school--depending on your situation this can be a good thing or a bad thing. i'd probably still do it, though... the initial $35 seems reasonable, and then it's always good to get your work & name out there.
30  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: How?/Where? do I get a website for selling items? on: October 08, 2004 04:32:18 PM
i use godaddy.com & it's also under $10/month. you have to factor in buying the domain name, however. but that's not expensive.
