3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Birds and wood grain... ok, I'll play along... on: April 22, 2007 07:36:34 PM
After making bags for other people all weekend, I thought I should share the crafty love with myself.  I've had this fabric in my stash for a while and never thought much of it, but I pulled it out last night and really was blown away by how freakin cool it is!!  I get it, birds live in trees, but it looks more like they have made their home on a sheet of plywood!

Only 2/4 wooden rings match  Tongue, and the bottom fabric is covered with clear plastic/vinyl stuff. No fancy pockets or anything, and it closes with a magnetic snap.

Well, I am tired.  I have done so much crafting this weekend!!  Love it.  Have a good week.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Crisp Black and White Big Bag on: April 21, 2007 09:08:43 PM
I have had this black and white fabric for ages; I think I got it at a thrift store.  It is super thin, so I put a layer of white fabric behind it.

I tried to match the print when I put in the piping... I think it looks pretty good!

Details shot... Mag snap...The green fabric is just for contrast...

Yay!

Wow, there are a lot of people with connections to mental health and/or developmental disabilities!  One of the first thing my boss told me when I started was that I would hear "retarded" a lot.  But, it is a diagnosis, not something you should label people as.  It's kind of an "industry" phrase.
Ok, no more retardedness from me. (Is that bad? I couldn't help it  Wink)

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!  (I just learned that, I am still overusing it!)  That is such a wonderful thing.  Rainbow Bright was the coolest thing ever when I was a little gal.  That really gets the spirit of the Colorful Girl.  It makes me smile! Grin

Yes rozekitten! It is done in the jordy style! Keen observation!  I do nearly all my bags like that.  It makes them look so neat and finished around the top.  I have been thinking of a way to alter it slightly so that there isn't a seam in the middle of the side.  Will be experimenting soon...maybe I will have something to show for it??!?!?!

Thanks for all the love!  I was a little apprehensive to post.. I have been hanging around forever, but never really committed!!
