1  Felt d*ck in a box - adults with a sense of humour only in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by serialdeviant on: November 05, 2007 03:03:01 AM
Okay, the first day I started work, I was shown this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQsBNZKQn6g

As you can imagine, it stuck in my memory.

And then, a few months later, my colleague (who showed me the video, it's our departmental gag) was leaving for another job, and I jokingly said, "Who's bringing the dick in a box?"

Which set off a brainwave...

(You need to have watched the SNL short, otherwise you'll just think I'm completely mental.)

It's really simple, but it made everyone laugh, so I hope Craftsters enjoy it too.

I'm marking this place to post my pictures. I have received:

Photo cards from GatorWrangler; Placemat purse and rings from riario; Daisy pendant from LuxieLou; Clay pendant/necklace from kishcrafts; Metal bookmark from Saor; Sock monkey pincushion (sock monkey pillow) from igobylorib; bobby pins from sewknitter

Yay for the Internet working!

(My sock monkey has decided to use the pincushion as his pillow.)

I've finished my chokers:

1-6 are choker-length (collars, smaller), and 7-10 are collarbone-length (longer).

The colours tend to be quite warm, browns, off-whites, oranges. You can see that #9 uses red, and #5 uses blue flower beads.

Here's what I've received so far:

A couple of days ago, it was a lovely, bright, and happy bag from Homerof2.

Today, it was a zippered pouch from Avesthel. I've already said in my PM is I'm going to be using this every single day.

POSTED 6 JUNE: A brilliant pocket mirror from hertrigger. It came in a sorry it got ripped USPS bag, but I think everything was in there.

POSTED 11 JUNE: Chocolate bath salts from Mlsocci74. Useful at the end of a stressful day.

Only one more!

I am reserving this spot for posting pics of the adorable and funny needlebook M-alina sent me. I have not had time to download the pics from my camera yet, I'm hoping to this weekend.

My boyfriend thinks I'm weird and had no idea WTF it was until I explained, and he said Very good. He also thinks my obsession with penguins is freakish but that's another story for another day! Heehee.

UPDATE: here's a pic.

How cute is that?!

6  Re: Letter and a craft swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by serialdeviant on: May 18, 2007 01:01:06 AM
I received from EowynUlysses yesterday, but I haven't had the time to take any pics (will update this post when I do, should be the weekend). Suffice to say she went above and beyond the call of duty and I have actually brought some letter paper to work today to try and sneak in some letter-writing time!

I feel what I sent her was so inadequate now, I'm fired up to send a massive response.

Thanks so much, EowynUlysses!! Kiss

UPDATE: Here is a picture.

A tote (it's gonna be my lunch bag from tomorrow onwards eeps, I eat so much my lunchboxes are too big and won't fit), tool / craft pouch and card + letter. I've already written my reply, and am preparing my return package!

Again, I have succumbed.

I am offering a tiny amigurumi turtle in a craft felt turtle cave / multi-purpose trinket pouch.

EDITED TO ADD pictures on 7 May 2007:

The colour combos are: red + grey, blue + grey, brown + light grey, dark green + orange, orange + grey-green

Final picture of the turtles in their caves (added 9 May 2007):

These fellas are extremely small (only about 1.5" long from head to bum), so the cave / pouch is big enough to hold things like necklaces or earrings, but not bangles.

I'll post pictures of the cave / pouch later on.

8  Experimental amigurumi large-headed bird in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by serialdeviant on: April 14, 2007 10:09:19 AM

I made this to see if I could manage it in a sweat shoppe swap. I tried making a tripod base (tail + 2 fat feet) for stability, and I managed to screw that up a bit. Unbelievable!!

It needs a name. Suggestions?

My final package arrived.... geez, DAYS ago, but today is the first time I've turned on my computer!

Very pleased. Useful and attractive! Grin

I've finally found the time to take and post photos of what I've received! Sorry the quality of the photos isn't so good, I only have time at night, and the rooms aren't too well lit.

The brilliantly brilliant passport holder from foolily (it fits!!!):

The excellent cherry pendant on chain from atsuko:

Notecards I'm going to use ASAP because I'm trying to bring the snail mail back, from GatorWrangler:

I wish you could smell these, they're subtle and so lovely even the boyfriend likes it, soaps from christal1994:
