1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Tiger Wrestler Munny on: June 26, 2010 09:08:45 AM
Thanks for your support everyone!

There is only three days left for voting (yikes!) and there are some insanely awesome customized munny figures posted. If you know of anyone who might dig this contest, or my design, feel free to pass the info along. Every vote helps a bunch!

Oh nos! I did upload two photos but for some reason the other one didn't upload! Yikes!
I will have to contact Kidrobot about that. Thanks for giving me the heads up! I am glad you like it!

This is my first munny that I have ever painted and I thought I'd enter my Tiger Wrestler design for Munny Munth over at Kidrobot.
(Although there are already many entries that are giving me a run for my munny...heh...)

It started out as a concept illustration that I made in Adobe Illustrator but then took a much more painterly turn when I actually started working on the munny.

If you dig it, but sure to "like" it on the Kidrobot Entry Page.

Thanks for taking a look!

Thanks,
Magen
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Peppermint Bark! Tags on: December 05, 2009 09:27:24 AM
I forgot to subscribe to my own thread to see if there were updates! (duh Magen!) Sorry that I haven't replied. Thanks so much everyone! I actually had a few requests about putting these up in my Etsy store, and although I wasn't planning on it at first, I think I will and share the pug luv!

They come back from the printers on the 7th so I will keep everyone updated!

The economy has kicked my butt this year and now more then ever I am feeling it.
Unfortunately I can't make the seasonal splurge on Etsy, so to get around the fact that I am broke I designed and illustrated some hang tags to go along with my homemade peppermint bark.

And what better to represent a festive barking dog then a bulgy eyed pug?

The back of the tag has the obligatory "baroo?" face.
6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Thanks my fellow Craftster Artists! on: November 19, 2009 10:04:43 PM
I think I will be getting one of the 2nd place prizes for a gift certificate for $250 (woot!)
Although now that I think about it, I should ask if I get two. (hah, wouldn't that be great but I'm doubtful)  Grin

I think they should be sending paper work or something in the near future...  Huh

*UPDATE*

Winner for the Ps Print Holiday Greeting Card Contest have been announced and can be viewed HERE

I didn't take home the big prize, but hey, runner up in two categories isn't half bad.

The information about my card on Ps Print can be viewed HERE as well as a few other samples of my work.

Thanks everyone who helped me get to second. I couldn't have done it without my Craftster supporters!

I've actually heard of DIY vinyl/resin toy maker using legos all the time.
I haven't looked into it too much or seen images of the process, so it would be great if you could indulge us.  Smiley

This is such an awesome piece! before I read your description my assumption that this was all traditional media. I couldn't agree with you more on the computer to print output, sometimes I feel like something is lost along the way. However, I don't think this piece has lost anything! It's great!
Thanks for shots 2 & 3. They really show that nice texture your were talking about.
10  UNITED STATES / Utah / Re: Any craftsters in utah? on: November 16, 2009 06:28:56 PM
WOW! I am surprised to find a lot of Craftsters from Utah on here.
I thought I'd poke my head in here and say hello!
I'm living in Salt Lake right now but I am originally from Magna.

I know someone earlier in this thread asked if there were any sort of craft festivals in SLC.
Craft Lake City's first annual festival was just this past August and it was GREAT!!! Did anyone make it out to that?

I went early and got an AMAZING piece of pottery for only $25 as well as some great art prints.

I am hoping one day to participate in it too. I'm really glad this is taking place in SLC now.
