1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Newbie question: Buying a zipper foot on: October 10, 2009 06:21:35 AM
Awesome, thanks for the help all Smiley  I think I should be able to get something that works now.

I dreamed last night that I was putting the zipper in my Halloween costume, will have to hit the store today and make it come true  Wink

Thanks, I have seen that page about choosing your feet, but I'm confused by it.  Mine is definitely snap-on, so I guess I should be more specific in my question... does the shank size make a difference if it's snap-on?  Is it just a plain old snap-on zipper foot, or do I need a low-shank snap-on zipper foot?  Or, can I just forget the snap-on aspect and get a low-shank, and remove the little ankle and replace the whole foot? Huh
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Newbie question: Buying a zipper foot on: October 08, 2009 08:11:57 PM
I took a sewing class circa 1992 and have piddled around with a machine once every 4-5 years since then... and not surprisingly, I've run into a question that has me stumped  Smiley

I seem to have lost my zipper foot.  If I want to replace it, how do I buy the right one?  I have a machine that dates to back before that class I took- New Home MyExcel 15s.  To change out feet, there's a little push button that pops the old one off, and you just snap a new one on.  Each foot has a little bar across the top for this.  (Conveniently, I still have all kinds of funky feet that I haven't come up with a use for, just no zipper foot).

Shopping around a bit online, I see feet organized by "low shank", "angled shank", etc., but is there some other option that I'm just not seeing for this type that snaps on?  Any help would be appreciated!
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Geek Pride Swap Round 2 - Swap Gallery on: August 01, 2006 02:54:58 PM
Just wanted to post and say that I received from sharc today Smiley  I LOVE all my goodies... will post pics soon but have to run right now, but here is a list of what I got:
-Pouch to hold my geeky things
-Book thong
-Stitch markers
-Yoda origami
-Crocheted Yoda
-Post It notes
-Puzzles
-Harry Potter trading cards

I am so excited, sharc really took my geeky profile and ran with it- I'm pretty sure I didn't have enough room in my Top 10 to mention my occasional obsessions with logic puzzles or my stash of origami paper... or my love affair with Post It notes, for that matter Smiley  Everything is great, pics to come...

I'm so excited, I was jealous when I saw what I missed in the first round.  I'm joining up when I get feedback for my first swap!  Now I just have to narrow the list of what makes me a geek down to only 10 items...  Cheesy
