11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Name that stitch..... on: August 27, 2009 04:09:58 AM
I actually think it looks like a bobble on the knit side I dont see any purl bumpies(technical term, lol). I did a bobble that looks very similar to that it goes kf, kb, kf, kb all in one stitch, turn work p4, turn work k4 pass the last 3 sts over the 1st one and drop them off the needle. Try it out and see if you like it.

By the way what are you making?

taranehsbazaar I think you made the best package of them all, everything looks really well made, great job.
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 2 Pittsburgh Hats on: August 26, 2009 02:06:03 PM
The first one I made mostly black with gold stripes and its slightly smaller than the second. I didn't use a pattern for it because it's really simple but I did learn a new technique in order to create jog less stripes. For the second one I did use a pattern, one that I found on Ravelry of course. Here's a link http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-boy-hat I chose this pattern because I really liked the pattern on the top of the hat and I thought it was manly, although I think I might possibly make one of these hats for myself in the future. I used knit picks superwash wool so they can both be machine washed. They are sooo soft you would never even think they were made of wool.

Thanks for the compliments  Grin I knit the fish and I crocheted the cup and I felted them both. I had to wash and dry them several times to make them super felted and the "hat" is supposed to be coffee because Amelie works at a cafe.

Hello everyone, I know my partner received and I asked her if she could post pictures but I haven't heard anything back from her so I'm going to post pictures of all but one of the items because I forgot to take pictures of it. All the items are based off of the movie Amelie.

Thank you. Im really going to get alot of use out of it because I wear short sleeves to school but they have the air conditioning on really high and I need something to wrap around me.
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My first ever shawl "Gabriels Wings" on: August 21, 2009 04:36:47 PM
I have just completed my very first shawl and I think I'm hooked. I used a very easy pattern that I found via Ravelry and it took me a week from start to finish. The only modification that I made was I knit mine using a size 5 needle instead of a size 3 because I wanted to make sure it was big enough. I had this skein of sock yarn in my stash for probably over two years, I had purchased it from Etsy and it is hand dyed in a very pretty pink and green combo. I can't remember what seller I purchased it from, I don't use Etsy anymore cause I'm broke, lol.

Here's a link to the free pattern http://redcorsetdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/05/gabriels-wings.html

If I can find some yarn in my stash that will work than I'm in.

Brooklynne you did a great job. There based off the movie White Oleander with Michele Phiffer she is evil and lovely all at the same time. I think I'm going to watch it again tonight.
