This is my first tattoo and it hurt, lol. I love it. Its grey ink with a little white highlight on the feathers. The whole thing took a little over an hour. I was shaking uncontrollably for the first ten minutes of the first wing. After she started tattooing me I started to question why I had chosen such a large tattooo for my first one but it was all worth it in the end because I love the way it turned out. I had them drawn up not to look like any kind of specific wing just something that I liked for myself. I wanted the feathers to be a little messy and tattered looking.
Right after she finished the tattoo.
After it was finished healing
I'm going to get more tattoos in the future but not anytime soon, lol.
I started out a few months ago with a free pattern for a top down raglan that I found on Elann.com but from the time I cast on I was having problems. The cast on used was strange and I had never seen it in any knitting book or pattern before but I figured the hardest part was over and decided to keep going. I had such high hopes for this little knitted tee. It looked so adorable on the model and I planned on wearing it during those really hot summer days. Unfortunately the pattern made no sense to me so I was forced to frog after months of putting this project off and trying to convince myself that I would finish it. I felt like such a quitter until I went onto the Elann website looking for the pattern and realized it had been removed which makes me think there was something wrong with the pattern which makes me feel a little better.
I finished this some time ago but I was busy moving and getting settled so I wasn't able to post about it. It took me about 2 weeks from start to finish. I am thrilled with this tee! It fits perfectly and came out just the way I had envisioned it would. I wore it out that same day as soon as I finished blocking it. So without further ado...
I wore a regular flesh colored bra underneath it and I didn't feel it was to noticable or revealing and it really is very comfortable in the summer heat here in Pittsburgh.
Well I didn't finish by my deadline but a bout a week later so I guess thats not so bad. I didn't get any pictures with my niece wearing it but I have some finished pics of it laying flat. I love the way it turned out.
Im going to post more photos on my blog so I don't take up to much space on here.
Okay I just finished blocking early this morning and I love the way it turned out. Obviously I didn't get to give it to my sister for her b-day (January 29th) As you can see from the photos it looks nothing like Knitty's Reid. lol. Thats because I changed everything. First I decided that I wanted ribbing instead of crochet edging, next I decided that I wanted an easier stitch pattern, then I changed the decrease for the neckline and added ribbing there, and lastly I decided to make it with short sleeves for the summer. I was worried that I wasn't going to like it but I am in love with it. I might make another one in the future. Oh and my mother picked out the butterfly button.
