I love the idea of a Punk Rock Craft Fair at the Black Cat!  Who were the organizers for the one in Boston, I'd like to get in touch with them.

The best G Street is in Rockville, and all of the locations are having a sale starting on the 17th of June!  25% off all fabrics!

I did this decoupage mirror, with Modge Podge, and covered it with an acrylic matte varnish, but some duct tape got stuck to it, and pull it off, paper, modge podge and all.  I need a varnish that will stand up to more wear, that will go well over Modge Podge, and comes in matte instead of gloss.  Any suggestions?

Also, on a totally unrelated note, where would I find magnetic closures, like for handbags?

And does anyone have a suggestion for finding E600 glue wholesale or in large quanties?  I go through 2 tubes a week at least.

I'd love a tutorial on your handles!  That purse is gorgeous.

It's a brand new machine, been using it for about a month, so I haven't changed the needle yet.  I was making the bag out of tee shirts, with no interfacing, so it wasn't too bulky, but that handle really hung me up.  I didn't have a hard time with it making too long stitches, so I'll have to just try it again and see how it turns out.  Maybe not use a contrasting thread, so if I screw up, you can't tell.

I was thinking of a similar idea for myself and some local artists that I know who all have booths at the same market every weekend.

I used ribbon and rubber tubing, although doubled up ribbon works just as well, and is 10x easier.  I've seen people use boning, like for corsets, which looks simply gorgeous, and I plan to try it soon.  You can also use rope as the stuffing, which lets the handles have more give.

Here are the newest book purses that I made yesterday.

So, I've tried this a few times now, and I always get hung up when doing the row of visible stitching at the top of the bag.  Whenever I get to the handles, I have a hard time going over all those layers of fabric, and my line gets all crooked.  Any advice?
