4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / some recent FO's on: February 22, 2011 10:38:41 AM
hi crafters!

here are some of my recent FOs.

They are susie's reading mitts from Dancing Ewe Yarns. The pattern was simple to follow but there are a few errors in it i think.
the only thing i didn't like about this project was my tension was uneven and they look kind of wonky, but not when they are being worn.
here's the pattern link
http://www.dancingewe-yarns.com/cgi/commerce.cgi?display=action&emptyoverride=yes&template=PDGCommTemplates/DE/freepatterns.html

next up is Meret from Woolly Wormhead

i used a skein of malabrigo worsted that i had lying around. this pattern knit up really quickly and is really pretty!

finally is another pair of mitts -

These are Cozy Thermal Mitts - i found the pattern on Ravelry. I had trouble making my gauge fit - i even went down 2 needle sizes and they are still a little big. I'm giving them to a friend for his birthday. I used 2 skeins of Knit Picks Shamrock i had stashed away.

hope you like it!

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / owl-y french press cozy on: February 10, 2011 02:08:58 PM
my friend loves her french press. a lot. she brings it to work with her and everything. i figured a french press cozy would be a good present for her (although she drinks so much coffee i'm not sure she leaves any in the french press for a cozy to keep warm).

i made up my own design because i didn't find any patterns that struck my fancy.

the eyes look a little googly in the first picture - it makes me laugh.

here's an up close of one of the owl cables:

it has an owl cable on each side, and three regular cables evenly spaced between. it holds on with three braided ties. the first picture is more accurate color-wise.

if for any reason you want to read more or see extra pics, the blog post is here : http://wistfulplying.blogspot.com/2011/02/anissas-french-press-cozy-because.html

hope you like it!
