Yah, ribbon would work good, just get some that matches your dress and whatever thickness you would like then sew them on just how the instructions tell you too.

You can probably just go to a hardware store and ask them what is the smallest size of stainless steel they sell. And if its just a bit too big buy it anyway and get them to cut it for you...If your store does that. Or just get some one who knows how to help you cut it. Then of course sand the edges so they arent sharp.

CarrieVision, thats a really neat idea. Thanks!!! I doubt it would waterproof them but oh well...its a great idea anyway. I think I might try that if I can find the tubing in my town.

That's really cool! Looks like it took awhile to do.

Cool! And it's so easy! I might just make myself one, its so much better than looking all over for the perfect belt!
1147  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re:Paper Beads on: March 25, 2004 12:01:27 PM
I did use glue on mine and then I took one and stuck it in the water for about 30 seconds or so and kept pushing it under the water with a paintbrush and then when I took it out it was all gooey and then it dried cloudy (The glue) So I might look for some modpoge or something similar and use that. Thanks anyways!!! Your help is muchly apreciated!  Smiley

Hmm, molding stainless steel...I don't think that would be really easy to do. Plastic would work just as well unless you really want a metal one. But if a plastic one is what you want just do what StarStiches said.

Well I doubt that SplendedSplender would use a dirty chain. It would be a really good idea to use a brand new one...

I was just wondering how I would make paper beads waterproof (Glue doesn't work!)
Here's a picture if you need to see what I'm talking about. http://www.kid-at-art.com/icons/necklace.gif Mine are a bit different since they are thinner and I'm using comic strip pictures.
