2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / DO: steal from airplanes on: June 30, 2006 06:33:47 AM
I was looking at old posts and I saw some fork bracelets. So I thought I would show off mine  Wink
While in high school I lived in France, and me and my flatmates spent all our money on vodka and clothes and other fun stuff. But since we also had to have stuff for the apartment we became creative. One of the things we did was taking with us forks and knives from airplanes to use at home. We were all Norwegians and went back and forth for holidays, often taking several different flights to reach the final destination. I recommend this to everyone, the cutlery is normally quite nice and without sharp edges. I prefer the SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) design. If not of course they have 9/11 restrictions with plastic knives and stuff, or don't serve food at all any longer.
Then one night we watched the movie Gus van Sant made from the Columbine High School shootings and one of the students there has a fork bracelet. By this time we already had a lot of airplane forks and my flatmate made me this bracelet. She bent it around a metal bar, only using her hands. The forks are quite easy to bend and this makes it easy to take on and off. Later all three of us started to wear these bracelets regularly and they became our trademark. I still use it every now and then and it is loaded with memories.

So this is an idea for all the craftsters who are going on holidays with airplane flight included Smiley

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / late night quilting on: December 22, 2005 01:19:40 PM
This is a make up-bag that I made for a friend for christmas. I was going to give her a dvd, but then they were sold out and that made me freak out. Very much. So I had to come up with something good really fast, and this was the result. It is quite easy to make.
I spent about three hours in total, since I decided to applique the heart after I had sewn the thing together..
