1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Bamboozled - Cabled Headband (With Pattern!) on: October 03, 2007 07:52:51 AM
I too frequently suffer from the COTSS (Cheesy)- I've gotten pretty good at finding stash-busting patterns.  I really like your design!  I'm a hat/headband freak (seriously, you can blame the Panta for that, it started it all) - I'm sure I'll be using your pattern to use of one of my many singles this season!

The other fun thing is finding uses for the little balls of leftovers.  Luckily my two-year-old's feet are small enough that I have an automatic use for leftover sock yarn.  Yesterday I was knitting the most gorgeous strawberries ever out of leftover 100purewool, they really do look delicious.

Thanks for the pattern!!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Not staring at your knitting on: September 16, 2007 07:59:53 PM
I don't watch anything whilst knitting, I listen and look-up when somebody gets their head chopped off.  DH hates it, he says I don't watch movies when we watch movies.  Hehehe.

It's a real bummer, too because I love foreign films.  There's really no way to read subtitles and knit at the same time for me.

Oh well.  Knitting's cooler anyway.

Ah!  This is an awesome hat!  I love the baby version in your Etsy shop.  That kid is cuuuuuute.  My DS has a fabric one already, but he NEEDS one of these!  Cheesy

Smiley  No prob, Bob.  As soon as I get a little extra $$  it's going right into some DK weight yarn to give this project another go...

I love your cake!   Cheesy  I have that book as well.  What weight yarn did you use for your cake, and did it turn-out the correct size for a tea cozy?  I really want to make the tissue holders in this book, but I can't figure-out yarn weights and mine keep turning-out the wrong size!  I will probably just have to wing it and hope for the best and use the pics in the book as a basic guide...thoughts?
