1  Re: amazing...my first time using freezer paper and I love it! [TUTORIAL ADDED!!!] in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Cruisin Status on: July 02, 2008 05:06:00 AM
I always use TWO parts acrylic to ONE part Fabric medium. And I only iron it for 30 seconds... I re-use the stencils, so long as they don't rip!  Wink

4  Afrikan Rites in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Cruisin Status on: February 21, 2008 04:21:47 AM
I painted this with a Sharpie and 99-cent watercolors from the corner drugstore in New Orleans, circa 1998... I was looking at a few pics from a National Geographic, but painted this different from either pic...

7  I LOVE 2-HUMP CAMELS! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Cruisin Status on: June 10, 2006 07:25:10 AM
How do you like my latest creation?

Thought to be extinct, two humped camels were found in the Gobi desert, and they are rare because they live by drinking salt water that springs out of the desert...

8  Re: freezer paper/textile medium in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by Cruisin Status on: February 01, 2006 03:28:46 PM
OK. Here's the gritty on freezer paper... this old schoolers link has 9 pages of info about freezer paper stencils~ http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=15045.0
...AND THIS LINK IS FOR STENCILING IN GENERAL: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=17814.0

alright. so. one more time. which way do i put the freezer paper in my printer? dull side or shiny side up?
Be sure to print on the dull side.

and i bought textile medium yesterday. i want to know what everyone really thinks of it? and it says that i should wait 7 days (after heat-setting it) to wash it. is that really necessary? would one day be ok
No need to wait 7 days to wash! I just wait 'till it dries, THEN HEAT-SET IT.MAKE SURE IT'S COMPLETELY DRY. To heat set it with the iron 1.}peel off freezer paper from painted shirt, 2.}put piece of paper over image so as not to ruin your iron, and 3.}on appropriate heat setting for your fabric, move iron for 20 seconds over design. It is now ready to wash and wear!

any other tips/tricks/comments on either thing would be greatly appreciated.
CheesyINSIDE SCOOP: you can use your freezer paper stencil more than once!!!Just be sure not to rip it... I used one stencil three times and I know I could use it again.

Wink...Another thing to do is blend more than one color... my example:
