1  Crayon Scarf [NOW WITH TUTORIAL - see p2] in Knitting: Completed Projects by ecila_etc on: December 16, 2005 03:16:07 AM
Just fininished this for my little bro for Xmas.

It was inspired by a novelty plaster ("plaster"=bandaid to non-Brits...) and that police tape scarf that was in Magnits a few months ago.

I used patons gold DK on 4.5mm. The tension's a little bit loose but I couldn't be bothered changing my chart when I realised it would be too small on 3.5mm's (getting the proportions right was everything with this project).

Its a bit short as a scarf for my tastes but it's backed with fleece which makes it super-warm so you don't need to double it round your neck and goes once-round quite neatly. Also, because its backed with fleece you can wear it with the plain black showing (rather than just busting the whole "my sister knitted me a novelty intarsia thing for xmas" look...)

I'm about to post some more xmas FOs to my LiveJournal.
