1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Venezia from Interweave Winter 06 by Eunny Jang on: May 15, 2007 10:19:04 PM
I have to admit, I've been done for a while. I just haven't found a chance to get a good picture taken. I figure if I admit it publicly, I'll feel guilty soon enough and get it done.

Tapestry needle?

This is amazing. I hardly had the patience to stain a small coffee table, I can't imagine doing anything on that scale, plus all the details, but I want to now.

This is exactly what I've been needing, thanks for the inspiration.

That's so adorable. It looks like the perfect summer top.

I was reading in the earlier post and someone had mentioned that the recommended yarn is really itchy...  You guys having problems with that???

this maybe a really stupid question... is it crutical to use bamboo needles?!?!?

It is itchy, there is no question about that. I plan on wearing something underneath. The colors are really great though.

I'm using metal needles. Maybe you'd get a better gauge than me if you use bamboo.

MartiniMonster, yours is looking great! I love it!!
Did you use the recommend yarn and colours?

Recommended yarn yes. The background colors no, the pattern colors yes.

Oh my goodness, MartiniMonsters...it makes me think of shadows on old cut glass goblets.  So beautiful.

Thanks, that's an awesome way to describe it.

MartiniMonsters:

I'm really curios to see how your progress with venezia is going. Do you have some new pics to show us??

I finally started my first arm a couple days ago, I'm so slow. Is it a good excuse that I'm graduating from college in about a month? (But I'm only taking two classes)

Since you requested, I'll take a picture of the body, when I get around to it.

Edit: I'm fast at getting around to it.

The whole body

I think this is the best shot as far as being true to the colors.

You don't have to repeat the whole chart. You'll probably want to make the sleeves longer to match anyway, so you'll just be adding the same amount of extra rows to the sleeves. What I've done so far is, I added 12 rows after the decreases, and then in the increases I did the first five sets the same, increase every 4th row, but then for the next five I increased every 7th row (which you would do every whatever row to make it the length that you wanted). I haven't gotten to the steeks yet, but I'm close. Just keep note of what row you end up on in the pattern and make sure the arms end up at the same row.

I really like your colors wabbit, red is my favorite color. I haven't been breaking the yarn, but my gauge is smaller. Superstich, I only spent about 72 for all of my yarn, where did you buy yours at?
