41  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Lip Balm Pouch on: December 23, 2005 05:30:54 PM
Well, I made this little baggy for a teen neighbor for Christmas. It's to put a small pot of lip balm in Wink Made from discounted wired ribbon (folded together & glued with fabric glue), with a small doily, silver bead, bit of ribbon (for loop), and silver decorative wire. Pics:

It closes with bits of magnets, next time I will use velcro or magnetic snaps Tongue Also I will use a LOT less glue, since it seaped through a bit. In the pics there is paper stuck to the ribbon, but that is gone now (just wet a bit and used my nail to get it off).

It's too small to fit the little chap sticks, but it's fine for a pot. Not sure of the dementions (have to check), but what I may do with it is fill it with popurri, and hang it from the Christmas tree Smiley

Thanks for looking Smiley

43  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Suggestions Needed (picture frame decorating) on: December 20, 2005 06:15:30 PM
Hi all Smiley I am giving a friend a copy of a picture I drew a few years ago:

It was drawn free hand, based on the cover of an awesome how-to-draw horses book. She requested a copy almost a year ago, so I figured I would surprise her with a matted, framed copy.

I have some great papers to choose from for the matting, but what I need ideas for is how to decorate the frame. I'd like to purchase an inexpensive 5x7 frame, and jazz it up.

We are both kinda new-agey types (think crystals, Budda, stones, etc), and she looooves color! She is a very strong person who inspires me Smiley

Any hints?
44  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Newbie With Ideas on: December 18, 2005 03:25:53 AM
Okies, so I am a newbie to the site, and must admit I adore it Cheesy Now, I plan on overhauling most of my clothes, into items that I will actually enjoy wearing, lol. So, I came up with a few stencils for some grey tank tops. Haven't decided which to start with, or even if they are do-able Tongue All came from dingbats (yuppers, I am dingy for dingbats, rofl). Any comment or crits? (keep in mind I just made these stencils tonight, and have yet to make the shirts).

I am also fooling with my celebrity photos (I'm a huge male celeb hound), and coming up with some ideas for my family (bear themed pillow casings for mom, chimp pillow case for dad, etc).

Thanks for reading!
