*Disclaimer: I didn't see a place to post this so sorry if its in the wrong spot*

I am a preschool teacher and for Earth Day (I know it was a while ago) we made recycled crayons to look like the earth. We peeled and peeled....and peeled paper off the old crayons, threw some green ones, blue ones, and a tiny bit of white ones in the muffin tin and melted them down.  And here are the Jungle Rooms Earth Day crayons

I thought they turned out really cool even though some of the parents were like, "oh, a crayon" Whatever, the kids had fun and we all learned something. ("If paper is made out of trees, why don't we just make new trees out of paper?")
We also did this with lots of other colors too but the Earths were by far my favorite

I found a patter in a bead fantasies book for this pretty ring a long time ago.  I've always liked it but never got around to buying the beads to make it.  Finally one day I remembered and made the ring.  It turned out really pretty but was too small by just a little.  So, I made another one with an extra motif added, and its too big. Come On! I mean really.....still, I like them and I think they need to be seen

My daughter was getting baptized and i bought a new dress to wear.  A lot of my back showed and of course I have a terrible farmer's sunburn going on.  No big deal, I had a little shrug to wear.  Somehow, my shrug found its way into the dryer and got a bunch of little holes (big enough I couldn't hide them).  I did not find the holes until 10 o'clock last night.  I decided, "How hard could it be to make a little shrug?"  So 2 hours and 45 minutes later, this is what I had......

I was hoping it would turn out cute because I was bound and determined to wear it no matter what.  I have to admit I am very proud of this because it is my first ever clothing attempt and I did it without a pattern and I NEVER crochet without a pattern.
The body is made in a rectangle in a fishnet stitch with a single crochet border all around.  I single crocheted part of the ends of the rectangles together to make arm holes.  It seemed like it needed something a little fancier, so I added a shell border.  It was really easy and I am very pleased with it.

My friend at work just had a baby and I wanted to make her something special. So this is what I ended up with

A couple of my coworkers and I went to the midnight showing thursday because we couldn't wait any longer than we had to, to see the movie. I decided we needed a little something special to wear so I whipped up some of these necklaces. I also made a couple earrings and put one of each to show

If you look closely, you can tell the picture is kinda weird. I work at a daycare and had one of the kids hold a plastic apple and took a picture to make bookmarks as a joke for all my coworkers. Everyone loved them so much I thought I would use my picture for the necklace instead of the book picture

I went to a bluegrass festival and kept seeing all these cool crochet and knitted hats and I wanted a new one, so I pulled out my yarn stash and this is what I got. I am very pleased with it.

I love these, my first pair were multi colored but I already gave them to a friend to cheer her up. Here are the one of the ones I kept
