11  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Brimmed Hat Crochetalong! on: September 08, 2006 12:54:02 AM
If you can find a color you like, you can always try a yarn meant for babies.  Well, a yarn meant for making things for babies, anyway. Cheesy

I just wish they'd make a black baby yarn.  People still think babies can't wear black?  Lots of parents like black, ya know.  I know a few... (my tiny tirade is over, thank you for listening!)
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Yellow-ish bell sleeved sweater! on: September 05, 2006 08:46:50 AM
Yay! Congrats on your beautiful sweater! Grin

If you ever remember that title, let us know!  And, just curious, what type/brand yarn did you use and what was your gauge/hook?

Again, great job. I really like it.  Smiley
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: September 04, 2006 12:08:21 AM
I love your "In My Day" book idea. That's awesome. Really!  I've seen similar things pre-printed for sale in book stores, but this would be so personalized!  And made by someone special.  I really think I want to do this for my best friend... maybe for her 30th birthday. Make it a milestone thing, and that gives me time to prepare (she's 28 now)!

Let me know what you do with yours; I'd love to see it!  Maybe when you're done you could post on here, and link us to it?  Smiley

edit: D'oh!  You said you'd share a pic!  Sorry, it's 3am and at this hour, I'm not a thorough reader.  Wink
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: HUGE bead storage PROBLEM!!! on: September 03, 2006 11:52:55 PM
^ Those are very useful!  I would suggest putting your beads in one of those after the move, unless, the drawers have lids that really snap in place.  You don't want to pick up the whole thing and have your carefully sorted beads mix up during the move.

If you have a lot of the same kind of beads, as in you don't need a thousand little containers to sort these beads, you could always just use cheap containers with lids. Shoebox size would stack well. Or even a real shoebox.

Or if you do need to sort these, by color or type, you could always save (and ask friends to save, too) altoid tins and other small containers of that type. These could then be stored inside your larger boxes or cabinets or dresser.  I used to go through altoids like...well, candy Wink so I had a lot of tins and used those for a very long time.  I still have some of my favorite beads in some.  I've also done the very cheap route, small snack bags, of the zip-sandwich-bag style that I bought at the dollar store.

Hope this helps!
