Love them! Especially the teal (number 2)! Could we see one layed out, flat? Are they like a regular rectangular scarf? Smiley

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Gauge Swatch Question (for prepster) on: September 20, 2006 09:14:30 PM
Okay, so I really wanna make the prepster (from Happy Hooker)!  I love that sweater/cardigan!!  I've got my yarn, and I want to test my gauge, like a good little hooker... Tongue

I've never made clothing from a pattern before, just sort of measured, and ran with it.  So when I test my gauge, do I use my yarn (already purchased!) and just do sc, or do I work in the pattern for the prepster?  And if I do work in the pattern, which part of it--the back?

Just wanted to clear that up before I get started.  I don't want to get really far into it and realize my gauge is whack. (Yep I said whack. Cheesy)

My husband doesn't like coffee... How weird is that?!  Shocked

And you still married him??

Yes, he has many other redeeming qualities! LOL Cheesy  He's just not that fond of any hot drinks, although he will occasionally have cocoa. That's okay, I get to buy whatever I like without compromising for his tastes!

Here's a coordinating question:  If you set up a swap with an odd number of people (like this one is 25), how do you make (partnered) pairs?  Undecided

I'm just curious. One day I'd definitely like to coordinate a swap. Smiley

Hey everyone, we've had a slight mishap with my partner pairing.

Padray and Cortag04 need to switch partners with someone. Padray has five little fur-babys (cats) and Cortag04 is REALLY allergic.

I should have asked before pairing them but I got caught up in the moment and alas, it went a little off.

Any volenteers?

Yes, so sorry everyone!  Especially to cortag04 and shylittlegoddess!  I usually mention that I have cats because I have so many... Undecided  Guess I was excited to get signed up and forgot!  Thanks in advance to any volunteers!

Oh, dear.  I'm a little nervous about anatomically-correct Oprahs and Bea Arthurs.
First-- eww! LOL Cheesy

And I'm feeling really out of touch.  I have no idea what those "Lost" numbers are all about.  I think I saw one episode from the first season, in a rerun.  This may require some Wikiresearch.
And as for the LOST numbers...we viewers know very little about them as well, so you're really not that out of touch! Wink  Also, if you just want to know about the numbers, I'm sure craftsters would be willing to fill you in, but if you're interested in catching up on the series (and some other good shows, too) go here: http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/articles/category_1197.html  I sometimes read episodes of shows I've seen, because the writers can be good/snarky/funny (or any combo) and they often catch details I didn't... I like to think they see that stuff because they watch each ep at least twice for the write-up...and not because subtlety is lost on me.  Wink  Cheesy

Edited to add: I guess I can remove the "come join..." section in my signature, huh? Smiley

Tomorrow's the big day--the day we start scratching our heads over how to crochet a working toaster from dried oregano and yellow Christmas lights.  Or something similar.

Good luck to us all!

I wish!  I think people can sign up *through* tomorrow...but I'm not sure. And we've got to wait 48 hours to find out who our partners are.

Ack! BUT-- Soon. Oh so soon.  Wink
