1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HGTV knitting page on: May 06, 2004 07:09:15 AM

HGTV has a knitting page : http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/pac_ctnt_nobanner/text/0,,HGTV_10680_17864,00.html
Is it new or did I missed it for ages ?
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Skirts, skirts, skirts on: April 12, 2004 11:00:14 AM
I make skirts and other stuffs. Usually, I work with 'real' fabric and a pattern.
I decided to follow my instinct
Skirt #1 & #2 are made from 1 buck pillowcases bought in a sort of Salvation Army store (Notre Dame des Sans-Abris).
For #3, I convinced my dad to save one pair of his old jeans and sewed the hem of an old petticoat (I don't remember where it comes from).

So, what do you think ?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / US pattern question on: March 04, 2004 12:35:45 AM
I bought a Vogue pattern for a dress, but since I'm used to French/German patterns, I was wondering if the seam allowances are really included.
I'm not sure I can work with this kind of pattern...
Does anybody know ?
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / costume : help needed ! on: February 29, 2004 09:30:29 AM
I didn't know which one was the correct, but here is my dilemma : my son's school is organizing a little 'disguised parade' which for he needs a costume/disguise.
Things get complicated : the them is 'pollution, environment, recycling'   Undecided
I can already see those poor kids, wrapped in trash bags or God knows what.
Do any of you have more original ideas please ?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Pattern size & measurements on: February 08, 2004 02:36:38 AM
I have a question for those who are familiar with dresses patterns : how can you adjust a pattern for a dress like this one
http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.200007848=x&TI=20001&pageNum=2&M=&UK=32064037.
According to measurement charts, my bust size would be 18 and my waist and hips 14 !
